Slathered in some Memphis BBQ sauce. Well done Mick, Jarron, and the rest the guys! We dominated a really good Houston team today and can't wait to see where we get seeded tonight. Thinking a 4 seed is possible.

Me too...clearly Stiffs don't beat a team the caliber of Houston in a title game.

Heck of a job this year by Mick all things considered.

Go Cats!

A week ago he created a thread about wanting Cronin gone. This was just him trying to head thing off after a big win going into the NCAAs. He'll be back on his nonsense soon enough.

I have to eat my words too. I left this team for dead a week ago. What a turnaround. Hopefully we get great fan turnout in Columbus and maybe even Louisville the next couple weeks!

I have mostly expressed an opinion that he should tey to modify his approach, and that if he were to leave it wouldn't be the end of the world. I know he is not ever going to be fired, but yes I have made those statements after poor performances, I guess those were kind of jacka** moves of me, sorry. His NCAA record is still 6-8 and one seeet 16, let's see if he can flip the script on that record. I tend to have my doubts because of past history, but he proved me wrong with a strong showing in Memphis which alot of us were not expecting.

RE: I'll have the Crow
I think we have seen Mick start to evolve his coaching style. Less yelling and more teaching this season. He did mention in interviews in the past that he has to figure out which players respond to what better. The new arena should help and it looks like they are targeting more big names and offensive threats in recruiting.

Outside of last season, he never really has been upset in the NCAA tourney. The 7/10 and 8/9 games are all kind of toss ups, etc. It is frustrating, but he is not the only one that has had issues. The tourney is a crap shoot and I keep hoping that as he learns from his mistakes and recruiting improves which I believe it will, that good things will happen. Outside of last season, UC hasn't been a protected seed so the seed says that the Cats should not make the 2nd weekend.

I look at Jay Wright, He started out hot and then Nova was a mess for like a 6 year period, getting knocked out in the 1st and 2nd round or missing the tourney and usually as a protected seed (Including as a 1 to an 8, and a 2 as a 7).

I'm not comparing Mick to Jay, but that is one of many examples of teams that couldn't bust through, so just keep making the tournament, learning from our mistakes and improving and hopefully it will happen.

This was a rebuilding season and we won the conference tourney championship and anything can happen in the tourney. Been a fun year, even though I think I lost 10 years on my life with all the close games, though I hope that all those tight ones will help us in the tourney.

Understandable after late season shooting and rebounding woes. But I too give credit to Mick and the coaching staff for this turnaround in Memphis. Yesterday not only added to UC's considerable postseason hardware, but was enjoyable to watch.

Now let's hope Iowa doesn't engineer a similar turnaround after their late season crash. It's UC's turn to catch a falling team, but impossible to predict. As I recall, Nevada was destroyed in its conference tournament last year, only to rise from the ashes.

We are all wrong sometimes. Occasionally it is fun to wallow in it.

The Bearcats exceeded my expectations too.

Mick sometimes talks about recruiting "character" as well as recruiting talent. That character showed in their bounce back from the end of the regular season.

Well done. Go Cats.
