They had a transfer and two freshmen red-shirting last year, and the Cardinals' recruiting class is listed by 247Sports as second in the MAC (after Ohio). Persons put up good numbers, but he could never lead them to a successful career season. I'll be interested to see what they can do without him.

Agree with this. I see BG, UT, BSU and Buffalo (just because they’re Buffalo and have been BUFFALO for a few years) as the top threats.

RE: Buffalo. Wow
Buffalo just picked up its second big commitment since hiring a new coach - David Skogman, who had a few Big Ten offers to go with numerous mid-major offers. The first signee was David Nickleberry, who originally signed with Memphis before transferring to a junior college. Together with two senior transfers who red-shirted last year (one from Middle Tennessee, one from Houston) plus a couple good returning players plus two rising sophomores with a lot of potential, the Bulls probably will win the conference again.

Skogman has all-mac potential. really good prospect who has a history of heart trouble that slowed his recruiting. big guy who is light on his feet and has a lot of skill. surprised wisconsin didn't offer him as he's a local kid who fits their style of big man play.
