I'm saying it's not going to make that big of a difference to the ODU fan that would attend. There might be a couple hundred more but not thousands...

The cost is not changing, on second thought, it's going up. Hotels around downtown Nashville and if that the reason you are going...you will want to stay close to downtown and $300 to $400 a night for a room.

On the local news one night, they said that Nashville hotel rooms were more expensive than NYC (on average). Just not enough of them.

People that haven't been to Nashville in years....dont understand how expensive it is today. You will pay $200 and up for a decent hotel out around Opryland and unless you stay in a Super8 type hotel off the interstate you are paying $175 up 5 to 10 miles from downtown.

Forget hotels. Stay in an Airbnb. During the SEC tournament in Nashville this week you can stay for a quarter to half of what hotel prices are. Airbnb is all we use now.

By the time you add in $100+ for cleaning fees and 100+ for service fees...you add 30% on to the nightly cost....

$233 a night or $700 for 3 goes up to $983 or $327 a night

If you have a few people going...it makes using this a lot better

RE: OVC
I've been to Nashville each of the past 2 years and am going again this year. Finding a hotel for $200 to $250 is not difficult at all. If you want to stay out of the heart of downtown, it's really easy. They did have some time where hotels were at a premium (recently just built at least 2 new ones) and AirBnb blew up.

The difference between Nashville and Birmingham is a big difference. Nashville is a place people would want to go. I can talk my wife into going to Nashville; there is zero chance in talking her to Alabama. Thats just a fact and I'm sure there are many others in that boat.

People always underestimate how many "fans of so and so" team were at the game. Its like when people on here say "only 50% of the stadium was full!"

I have no doubt ODU would send over a thousand fans to a conference title game in Nashville or other place that is relatively easy/fun to get to.

Yes. If you and a spouse are going the price difference isn't much if you're staying in a more expensive one, but if you've got a group of friends it's the way to go.

Heck, if it is just you and a spouse you can find $150 a night that come to $623 total.

As an airline pilot Nashville is definitely a travel destination, flights are full of bachelorette parties, etc. People from all over come to Nashville now for vacation. Even have a direct flight to London for crying out loud.

I think Nashville would be a nice location. The OVC has moved out. Host the men at the Municipal Auditorium and the women at Vanderbilt's Memorial Gymnasium. OR host the first round games on campus and then the men and women could both play at Municipal Auditorium.

I would think any of the Eastern teams would love to have the tourney in Nashville.

Belmont's arena is nice and close to downtown. Could be used for some of the games.

Well unless Middle and Western combines bids for a tourney in Nashville or the city does...they wont. Then it's a moot point on how many fans ODU has attending a championship game. Even more of a long shot of them getting back to one Rimshot

Idk man. I can't predict what my brethren would do, but there are a lot of us. Give us a decent reason to go and more will show up. There is 0 draw for us to go to Birmingham. Frisco is a bit more interesting if you are really into football or are a big Cowboys fan, or if nice hotels for cheap is what people consider exciting.. Give us something within a decent driving distance that has mildly interesting things to do besides the games and I think we'd go.

But, there is no sense debating it anymore. CUSA leadership has decided where the tournament will be, and it will be in their backyard.

I hope a lot of UNT fans realize how lucky they are.
