Democrats Already Surrendering Bellwether Ohio For 2020?

Quote:CLEVELAND, Ohio – One of the most prominent Democratic super PACs in the country does not have Ohio high on its list of targets for the 2020 presidential election, further eroding the state’s status as a presidential battleground.

A report from Priorities USA, the primary super PAC that supported both President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, significantly downgrades Ohio’s targetability, listing it as a “GOP Watch” state along with Texas and Iowa.

The Buckeye State is also notably absent from the super PAC’s $100 million early engagement program planned for Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida. A second phase without a dollar amount attached will include Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and New Hampshire.

“It’s not in our initial spending plans,” said Josh Schwerin, spokesman for Priorities USA.

Isn't Ohio considered to be an average view of Americans around the country? Isn't that why everyone looks to Ohio to see how the larger country is feeling?

If that's the case, the Dems are basically saying they don't care about views or votes of average Americans.

Or they think the political winds in OH have changed to their favor.

I thought everybody with a brain on this board already knew that.

Yes, but i didn't know Dems were outright admitting it now.

IMHO, OH is trending towards the profile you see in IN. However, it will never turn into a 2nd IN though since the latter has more of a bible belt feel than the former.

Ohio has been leaning right, not sure why.

The overconfidence among Republicans on this site is laughable. I'll make a prediction - Trump will lose bigger in 2020 than George H.W. Bush did in 1992.

Because anyone in their right mind are disgusted by the open celebrations of infanticide.

And because anyone in their right mind pauses when they see support for a shift to marxism.

You can't even determine a poll's bias when the word METHODOLOGY is typed in size 72 font on page 2, so I'll continue to take your predictions (which are consistently wrong) with a grain of salt.

I saw that note before I made the original post on the Florida topic. At least I know what size 72 font is - if you think that is 72, I can just imagine what your Tinder profile says.

Bwahahahahahaha.

Would you care to place a Tulane-like wager on that? Whomever loses gets out of the Spin Room (let's make this easy) for a year.

Surprised to see this- I live in Ohio, and the most populated counties are heavy Democrat. Even a lot of the outlying counties around Columbus and Cleveland, who normally vote Republican anti-Trump.

Below is the 2017 Cook Political Report Partisan Voter Index. OH is a red state. Compare it with NY on page 5.

Is there going to be a 3rd party? Clinton only got 43% of the vote.

Is that 300 oversample real? I assumed someone was just saying that.
No real pollster would put out such a poll. If it really is such an oversample, I can see why those Democrats were worrying that Florida was turning red in that article a couple weeks ago.

Seems like Democrats are losing the white vote. So they are losing ground in those midwest states.
