No ****. I don't think there's any group of people more privileged than attractive young women. You can find straight white guys who are homeless or who live in a squalor but you won't find very many attractive women who don't live comfortably.

Those damn white men. I mean they were the ones who created movies. Why it is not cultural (race and gender) appropriation that anyone who's not a white man can make or be in a movie? White men are the reasons why idiots like Brie Larson has a job making movies in the first place.
These spoiled little brat liberals go around telling white men (the ones who actually created movies, sports etc.) who they have to hire etc.
And did I read she's gorgeous in this thread? My opinion is that she has a really odd face. Her jaw is square as hell. Her face is also as they like to say to men "really punchable".

You got that right. There have been tests to show how we behave around "beauty" v. not as beautiful.
I've never seen a woman who's considered "hot" to be lacking for anything..... Unless it's by choice. Seen a few who fell into the "attracted to a scumbag" pitfall bit for the most part, they can set their own path.

Even before all of this, this movie didn't move my "have to see it" meter. I'm much more interested in Shazam since the Shazam cartoon was part of my childhood.

Too late AFAIAC. They couldn't have simply created a new female superhero, no, they had to jack with Captain Marvel. [/quote]
Okay, maybe I'm just getting totally confused. The first Captain Marvel (In Marvels' universe,... (so you can't compare her with Shazam (aka DC universe)), was an alien male .
The second one was a female, so how are they 'jacking' with the character in this case?
I'll be honest, my interest in this was minimal, although they've implied that this will be the "turning point" from the classic Marvel characters to the future characters for any future sequences.
The funny thing is for all the hard knocks DC has been getting, they've apparently getting more props lately as having a longer-lasting better "connecting" story. (although they still get made fun of for the cheesy villians).

Perfect way to point out the stupidity of the who "SJW" themed movie.
Women had roles that portrayed them as tough, smart, & capable BEFORE it was the "IN" thing.
Yep. They are acting as if the past 50 years has not happened. Going back to the 1960s, women have been smarter and tougher than their male counterparts on TV who are often portrayed as idiots. Think of Samantha on Bewitched, Jeanie on I dream of Jeanie, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, That Girl! (Marlo Thomas), not even to mention the action shows like Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman, Police Woman, etc. Even a character who was a total sex-pot like Daisy Duke was frequently outsmarting idiots like Roscoe and Enos (and sometimes even Bo and Luke) , and occasionally beating up the bad guy on the Dukes of Hazard.

Wow.. I just got semi-flashbacks.. when I see Samuel L. Jackson and Brie Larson in the video in the car... The first thing I was thinking was ...
Didn't I see this same scene with Samuel L. Jackson and Geena Davis in "A Long Kiss Goodnight"? And Geena kicked butt with the best of them throughout the entire movie (Even sometimes by accident) (And yes, i LOVED that movie too... but then again, I was also a fan of Cutthroat Island.)

I glad you brought this up. Long Kiss Goodnight is one of my favorite movies. I have not seen it in years.
I think I am going to have to see if I can buy that on itunes.
Quote:Men, you see, are a problem, and if they are permitted to sully theaters showing Captain Marvel, female spectators -- the only ones who count, according to Brie -- will have their safe space violated by unwanted *****-based behaviors.
Which is why I am stepping up to be a True Male Feminist ally to lead a new movement to stop men's ****** behaviors and sexual-assault-like invasions of sacred female spaces.
I am calling for all men to avoid seeing Captain Marvel, at least for the first four weeks of its theatrical distribution, to permit the legions of the "Carol Corps" fans to see the film in a positive, Sacred Feminine, female-only space.
I am calling for all men to observe, recognize, follow and celebrate the initiative #HeFree4Brie -- a full four weeks of only women, or female-identifying (no transphobia here!) persons attending Captain Marvel.
