I remember last year when we had to put in Williams against UNCG . He would not shoot when we desperately needed it. The whole season should be built for this weekend . Our subs should be ready, have to be ready. Wofford is....

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread (ETSU games)
What kinds of crowds did the (latter stages) Socon tournament have before ETSU arrived? For the past 3 years, the semifinals and finals have been filled by ETSU. Don't think all 7,600 seats have been packed, but around 90% for the final.

The Chatt game from 2016 was the most balanced, probably 60-40 us, but Chatt has quite the drive to Asheville. Both times we played UNCG it was probably 70-80% ETSU. Furman and Wofford don't bring in great crowds, and both somehow struggle filling 3,000 seat arenas at home.

I don't think either Davidson or Charleston Southern had the fan bases to bring the types of crowds we do

I guess it depends on the era you're referring to. Altho we weren't in it when Curry was around, my belief it that Davey traveled quite well back then. Certainly when Marshall was in, they brought big crowds - maybe as much as ETSU, which is amazing considering their distance. And yes, Chatt probably travels as well as anyone except ETSU.

Mercer had a good crowd for their womens game yesterday. I was surprised.

Western Carolina has an unusually large amount of fans attend their tournament games because of the large amount of alumni in the Asheville area.

In the past Mercer has bussed students to Asheville and had some nice give aways to students. Computers, etc.

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread (ETSU games)
History reminder.........

In the ETSU championship march in 2017:

In the first game, Desonta scored 11 in a row in the second half (on the way to 21) to pull the Bucs back ahead after being down to Mercer. Only 7 team turnovers.

In the second game, Cromer just got completely unconscious and dropped a big 41 bomb (half our points) in the lap of Sammie. Team was 13/23 from deep.

Championship game: Cromer 23 more; Burrell blocked *6* shots (tied single-game tournament record); A.J. 5 for 5 from the field; and VERY importantly, 19 of 19 FTs (school record).

All that, and the margins of victory were only 7, 9, and 5 respectively.
Lesson?: Players got to step up; players got to perform; not just good, but exceptional performances will be needed.

If Chattanooga can put up 5 treys in 16 mins of ball, I don’t want to see what Wofford will do. Bucs should pull this one out, but man.

EDIT: Make that 6 in the 1st half, if I’m not mistaken.

put this in wrong thread but will move it as is.

If we win it will be because the other team choked at the line for a change, But we are letting them rain threes and Baptiste have a big night.

We won but did not play well. Doesn’t instill a lot of confidence.

Our fans need to get to the game early tomorrow. Wofford brought WAY more fans than we did today, and almost filled the place up. I expect tomorrow's game to be a sell out.

Nice interstate drive for both. Wofford finally has that bad game, we soar, we owe em, and we meet Furman for the championship!

I’ll be absolutely shocked if we are even competitive tomorrow, but that’s why you play the games.
