RE: 03/04 AP Poll
Seriously sports fans, how does a Penn St (12-17) or Nebraska (14-14) ever present with some semblance of being a tier 1 win?

This is where it gets ridiculous. No one would argue that the Big 10 is either the best or 2nd best conference this year, but the idea that PSU is a top 50 team is laughable. They'd finish 8th or 9th in this conference.

Btw..if MSU had won at IU...THAT would have made 11 tier 1 wins.

I feel like these BBALL metrics are just a smoke and mirrors version of the CFP.

It’s how they scam the numbers so a 27-2 Houston, with arguably two of the best OOC wins in the NCAA, can justifyably be kept outta the Top 10.

Nailed it.

That's why the .500 or better in conference requirement is gaining momentum.

RE: 03/04 AP Poll
This is also where that that brain fart of a game at ECU (when most of the UC team had the flu), stopped Cincy on their rise to a Top 10 ranking, then having two Top 10 AAC teams battling it out for the title right now.

Admittedly, Cincy lost the game. But the AAC cost the conference by allowing such dregs into the AAC to begin with. Setting up such occaisional burp ups that Top teams invariably do every so often.

RE: 03/04 AP Poll
If Cincy had beat ECU...Houston would have beat a Top 10-12 team instead of Top 23. And they’d both be Top 10 right now. It really damaged the potential story line for both the game and the conference.

You’re exaggerating there. Penn State is significantly better than their record. Nebraska not so much.

03/04 AP Poll
Y’all are nuts.

But your right. AAC is a true power league.

AP poll should be:
1. Houston
2. UC
3 UCF
4. Everyone else

Any thing less than that Is metric bias and p5 bias.

We’re the best league in the country. Our 11th best is ecu and they are miles and miles better than the 11th best team in the big 10 (Indiana)

USF is the current 8th place team in this conference. They're 7-9. Give PSU their conference slate. What games are they winning that USF couldn't? Of course they're better than their record, but they arent the #49 best team in the country. Any halfway decent team is going to luck into some quad 1 wins when they get 15 cracks at it. Eventually you're going to have a really good night and someone else is going to play poorly.

Ok.

I ranked Houston 11th

Where you rank Houston ?

No one has said what their top 10 would be. Only just whined about being slighted (which is such little brother syndrome)

I actually liked your poll. I only chimed in because when someone else asked about LSU, you made it sound like their resume was a world above ours. Actually you made it sound like every team in the top 10's resume was a world above ours. To that I just wanted to argue that while UH doesn't have as many quad 1 wins as some of those teams they also don't have near as many blemishes. Its also my opinion that some of those quad 1 wins that teams in front of us have really aren't all that. Ultimately its all subjective and probably doesn't really matter. UH will make the tourney and should be a top 4 seed. Don't really think there's that much advantage in being #2, #3, or #4.

Compared to Tulane...they’re a 12-17 Final Four contender.

RE: 03/04 AP Poll
Well the 6th place AAC team, WSU, handily beat the 4th place Big 12 team, Baylor, that is only two games back. You know, the biggest, baddest, deepest conference year in an year out. So there is that.

Please don't mention Oklahoma.
