New Thread Head Men's Basketball Coaches
Next year or this year will probably be Murphy's last. This thread is for you to put forth those coaches you think you'd like EMU to hire as our next men's basketball head coach and what qualities you would like to see.

Why not just re-resurrect one of the old threads?

I prefer successful HCs from lower levels. Here's an example.
https://dupanthers.com/coaches.aspx?rc=2...th=mbball. No D1 experience though.

As for P5 assistants, we've been unsuccessful with that the last 3 times we went that route - Barnes, Ramsey, and Murphy. Saadi Washington would be worth a look though. MAC background that currently coaches under one of the best.

Whoever it is he must be the right fit and must have the ability to build a program.

John Bowler. Legendary EMU player, coached Brandon Nazione at Des Moines Area CC, where he has done a great job.

Biggest liability for next year will be
*Groce’s 3 point shooting
*Backup guards shooting in general
*Toure free throw shooting
*Toure foul trouble
*Bud Jones defensive quickness.

Some big potential problems, but not a horrible situation.

Yikes. Expect some JUCOs, especially at forward.

Groce and McAdoo have the talent to shoulder the scoring load, and Silver has shown some glimpses. I don't know where else we will get points from, though. It will probably be an ugly season, no matter who is coaching, which is why it's the perfect time for a change.

There would likely be a mass exodus of transfers out should they make a change, as is the norm with college basketball.

I am not so sure. I am no body language expert, but sitting directly behind the home bench I observe a lot. I am not convinced there is a lot of player admiration/respect for this coach. I observe much more player interaction with Coach Cline.
