Onions!
Got to give Tre Scott and Justin Jenifer some love for hitting some huge shots. Also, Cumberland was getting smothered, pushed, yanked all game, and didn't really play a great game but he found away to be more of a distributor at the end. I think they shot about 12-13 from FT as well, which is incredible for this team.

I appreciate your post for giving some positive credit where credit is due. I think you can add Brooks in to that mix for how he played [physical] against Tacko and he made some big shots at the charity stripe too.

Yep. Brooks clearly outplayed Tacko. Really Williams hit a lot of big shots and FTs too. And good to see Cane hitting 3s again.

Of course, all who Jarr mentioned... JJ's rainbow over Tacko might be one of the shots of the year.

RE: Onions!
This team never stops fighting and I'm incredibly confident they are going to find a way to pull out a win in most close games especially at home.

A lot of guys have been stepping up lately, but the one I'm probably happiest for is Jenifer (with Cane as runner-up btw) He took a lot of crap here and elsewhere for over 2 years. Sure some criticism was justified, but some was over the top and uncalled for imo (e.g. "wasted scholarship" and prople wishing he'd transfer). But he just kept working, redesigning his shot, and improving his game to become one of the better PGs we've had around here and that might still be selling him short. I still think assist/TO is the most important single stat for a PG and we all know his has been out of this world this year. Plus he's hit a lot of big clutch shots this year including several more tonight. And I've got a feeling there's more to come here down the stretch of his career at UC. I love seeing it and the pride he takes at being a Bearcat!

Got to give Mick credit too for keeping his composure in another rock fight. after the 18-2 run by USF he could've gone ballistic and likely wouldve in the past but he really seems to have learned from the nevada game last year that the leader has to be under control and coach with confidence.

Eh, sometimes I think going ballistic still works. But I agree that he seems to have a very good feel for how to get this team focused when it really needs to by whatever means it takes at that time.

Agreed.

He tried ranting and raving with this team earlier in the year, and it didn't work. Somewhere around mid-January (maybe after getting ejected vs USF?) he changed his demeanor.

I gained a TON of respect for Mick this year. It takes a lot for someone in their late 40s to completely change the emotional response patterns they've been using their entire career.
