I think Devan Downey would have been high on this list had he stayed.

He might have challenged Herb Jones as my favorite Bearcat to watch. Not the best but just enjoyable to marvel at what they could do with their size. It was amazing the way Herb could post up and score in the lane. Mick should make Scott watch some film of him.

Logan or Nick their senior year with Jarron this year would have have been our best combo in my opinion. Second choice would be SK with Nick or Steve. If we played three perimeter players Nick or Steve with Cumberland and Durden would have been unstoppable. Inside men could just rebound and kick it out; don't think we would miss two in a row very often!

After Cronin got the job, Downey announced that he was transferring. It's been said that, before he actually committed to transferring to South Carolina, Downey tried to come back to UC, but Cronin would not let him. A few reasons were given, but I can't remember exactly.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. Mick would have taken anyone on scholarship that could walk and talk at the same time.

I heard that but I think once Kennedy was let go Devin was destined to return home to South Carolina. Downey had a close relationship with Kennedy so I think he might have stayed if Andy had been picked to stay. Short term with Downey we probably would have not struggled as much as Mick's first few years. Long term we might not have the solid program of today; heck Fifth Third might not have been redone if Mick had not been coach.

Agree completely. Satterfield would be #1 for me if he was on the original list.

6. Burton

Note: Satterfield would be my #1 overall if he were one of the options.

I remember Mick even publicly mentioning it on his radio show during his first season at UC about Downey wanting to come back.

Im just glad Kennedy didn't land the job. The year he had the team and a couple of players had to set out of the NIT game we lost due to being suspended for basically not going to classes for a month is all I needed to know about him as a head coach. Hard pass.

Seriously? Logan took that team from him when satterfield wasn't playing at that elite level. He was unquestionably the alpha and the best player on that team.

Ditto- now don’t get me wrong Satterfield was a good player. But the thing I remember most about him is choke jobs late in the game when the ball was put in his hands.

shhh... love jihad. might as well replace him with your boy shawn myrick. although, he was at least a serviceable bench player. i woulda loved four years of d'juan baker. i think of him when i think of keith will in terms of progression in their second years

who else sucked? john carson?

slo
jarron
nicky
burton
killa
durden

satt would probably take durden's spot

One of my favorite UC factoids that most fans don't seem to know is that Charles Williams is Venus and Serena's half-brother. That is, Richard Williams is Charles's dad.
