You have Maurice and Thomas as experienced frontcourt players off the bench to go with Dandridge. A wildcard of Quinones or Bough signing as well.

Top 10 team capable of making a run.

Without Green, the above team might end up being top 10 caliber if everything breaks right

It is unfortunate that Lomax cannot defend a fat kid with a broken leg. If we are starting Lomax because of D, then we need to just forfeit the season because we are going to suck.

Quit it. I don't have a broken leg. 05-nono

RE: What will it take to win a National Championship next season?
We need all the pieces to fit more than anything else. Duke has only done this once and so has Cal. They have tried every year. We have the dominate big man and we need the dominate point guard, shooting and rebounding. Those two teams had the dominate big man (A. Davis and J. Okafor) Dominate point play. (Marquis Teague and Tyus Jones), a great player off the bench (MKG and Grayson Allen) and a steadying older influence (Daruis Miller Quin Cook) If we find those ingredients we have a shot.

Sorry if this is a repost, didn't read the entire thread.

It would be highly irresponsible of the opposing coach to put a broken legged, fat kid out there.

Experience matters, but we don’t know what the team will look like next season. As it stands, I agree. Guard play could be an issue, but we can’t say that for sure at this point. One thing is for sure, the team will look totally different than this year and I imagine some moves could be made between now and then that we didn’t see coming.

I'm expecting them...

Lomax plays far better defense than your posts, js.

The kid hustles, it will help to have some rim protection next season.

NOOOOOOO!!!!

Why would you say no? What if we land a Will Coleman type jc?

You don't think we need that type player to make a push and balance our roster for 20/21?

Ok, here on that could help us make a push the next two seasons.

Emmanuel Ugboh

Doesn't have to be the man, just complimentary, defend, 5 fouls and rebound

Here a combo guard (young though) that can fill it up. 3 years left.

Sean McNeil..will help open up the middle.

Whether it be a five star freshman, grad transfer or Juco we need atleast two more guys ready to step in and be major contributors to even begin talking about being a top 4-5 seed expected to make the second weekend of the tournament.

No matter what, a Final 4 (or National Title) is a tall order for a young/new team.

Absolutely!!!

We are good on Bigs...

You have a ton of talent coming in for bigs...

Then one transfer that becomes eligible next year along with Maurice returning...

We need some guards...The question is do you think Lomax and Harris will develop into high level guards over their career. If people feel they will be high level you go the Juco\Grad Tranfer route to fill the gap, if not you bring in another freshman

I think we will need some very strong veteran leadership probably ala a grad transfer.

Not wishing anyone out but I expect some roster changes/transfers and or reclassifications.

I guess we shall see..

An interspatial rift opens up and we are all transported to another universe. IF Penny continues to recruit in top 10 and we have enough four-year players to intermix with our few one and done's. Then we may be contenders in about 3 or 4 years.

Seems as if some get pissed when you apply reality in this forum. Anyone who believes with one solid class that we are a contender for the NC then you are completely delusional. X had a number of top recruiting classes and we never became a contender until Rose showed up to mix with those other high ranking classes. Weissman will get us to the tournament his one year and maybe a win. But the others in this class will be Jrs and maybe even Srs before we contend for a title and only then if we continue to recruit at a high level.
