Can't believe Rothstein doesn't know that...this is not football.

AAC uses the same ref pool as the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, etc...

UCF beats Memphis for the 5th time in last 6 games (in BASKETBALL! Who would have thunk it?)

Highlights from the AAC:

Dawkins talking about coaching the UCF fan base when to be loud and supportive. We are such a bad basketball fan base coach has to take his time and pantomime to the crowd to get loud.

Watch him as he talks about it though. He's excited, he can see the potential. I don't think he minds directing the crowd. The people are showing up and trying to be engaged, he can build off that.

As predicted, after a 4-1 start beating the weak and injured teams of the league, Memphis lost 5 of its next 8 when facing real competition.

You cite facts. It is also a fact that Memphis has already won more games than Houston during Sampson's first AAC season. It is also a fact that Memphis has not lost to date this season to schools like Arkansas-Pine Bluff and South Carolina St which is unlike Houston in Sampson's first AAC season.

I find it amusing, although predictable, that some fans have a higher expectation for Memphis this season than their own team under a new coach.

LOL. Everybody transferred out when Sampson was hired. He had 7 scholarship players that first year.

Penny was handed a team that went 10-8 in conference and will likely be unable to match that this year.

But yes let's compare to situations with truly bare rosters like Sampsons and Marshall's first years

There's probably more talent on this years Memphis squad then last years UH team. The difference between the two is the level of coaching one team received. I would hope Memphis out performed UH in Sampson's first year. We were fortunate to even field a team that year, let alone win a few games.

Look at you guys puffing your chests. Memphis is beating the teams we're to supposed to beat, and losing to the teams we were supposed to lose to. We didn't pick which order we were going to play them in.

Until two years ago you sucked for over 30 years playing in a garbage dump. You're in the top ten now, and you can barely fill your brand new 6000 seat arena.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Houston's pulling its weight. Memphis just needs to make sure they don't get hit with NCAA sanctions again.
