Trump administration looks to end numbers only bias test
https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/..._life.html

In theory, this is very good as common sense would be applied.

"In what would be one of the Trump administration’s most far-reaching moves regarding race relations, top White House officials are planning a sharp pullback from federal efforts to correct imbalances in outcomes for minorities in everything from housing to hiring. On the table: a ban on the use of a controversial numbers-focused racial-bias theory known as “disparate impact.”

Federal regulators and lobbyists familiar with the change say the White House management and budget office is reviewing a proposed executive order, originally drafted by two conservative Washington think tanks, that would prohibit the use of “the disparate-impact approach in the enforcement or application of any civil-rights law.....”

RE: Trump administration looks to end numbers only bias test
Examples where it wasn't used with common sense:

"...The Obama administration used disparate impact to sue hundreds of school districts for civil rights violations because they disciplined black students at higher rates than whites. It also used the theory to allege bias in consumer credit reporting, employee background checks, student loans, criminal court fines, traffic stops and arrests, and home and auto lending, among other things.

Conservative critics argue liberal politicians and bureaucrats have long misused the theory to find racial bias where it does not exist. They see it as a social-engineering weapon aimed at equalizing outcomes and extending the government’s power over the private sector...."

It is a back door tool for government to impose socialistic outcomes. And it is socialist because it forces business and state government to ignore risks that they must assume to meet it. The first thing any law enforcement officer will tell you is that a disproportionate amount of crime is committed by young African American males. The law enforcement person that first cited this publicly to me was an African American male who was an FBI agent who cited it in respect to a discussion about how some kinds of profiling can't be avoided.

If you will remember under the Obama administration this even applied to random searches for air travelers. Muslims would purposefully not be searched because too many Muslims had been randomly searched, and 70 year old women were randomly searched.

It's more insanity laid at the altar of multiculturalism and called diversity.

As the article points out, school disruptions have skyrocketed since Obama said you couldn't have disproportionate discipline.

It is part of what is driving this whole, "easy on crime" mentality trying to reduce sentences, because Blacks are a disproportionate number of the criminals.

Crime was out of control. We got tough on crime. It dropped dramatically. We have gone easy on crime and rates are creeping back up after 30 years of decline.

And the statistics indicate demographics are roughly the same with illegals cutting into stats as well.

I read something in a book - can't recall which - about ten years ago decrying the celebration of multiculturalism and diversity and marking it as a significant factor in the decline of western civilization.
