In theory, this is very good as common sense would be applied.

The law enforcement person that first cited this publicly to me was an African American male who was an FBI agent who cited it in respect to a discussion about how some kinds of profiling can't be avoided.

If you will remember under the Obama administration this even applied to random searches for air travelers. Muslims would purposefully not be searched because too many Muslims had been randomly searched, and 70 year old women were randomly searched.

As the article points out, school disruptions have skyrocketed since Obama said you couldn't have disproportionate discipline.

It is part of what is driving this whole, "easy on crime" mentality trying to reduce sentences, because Blacks are a disproportionate number of the criminals.

Crime was out of control. We got tough on crime. It dropped dramatically. We have gone easy on crime and rates are creeping back up after 30 years of decline.

I read something in a book - can't recall which - about ten years ago decrying the celebration of multiculturalism and diversity and marking it as a significant factor in the decline of western civilization.
