Our stellar 10-0 WBB team is due to tip off at Marshall in just two hours. (CUSATV)
At 8-2, Marshall is tied for third and remains the last formidable opponent in our front-loaded conference schedule. (Our final five opponents are all currently under .500 and are averaging less than .200!!)
This is a big one, and if we can win today then I think we can move to within sight of T25 ranking and talk of at-large eligibility becomes realistic.

Agree.

Given our remaining schedule which includes games against the weakest teams in the conference (while the other top teams will be playing each other), a win today against Marshall will all but lock up the CUSA regular season crown. Let's win lucky 13 in a row! Can't wait to see them in person next Thursday for the first time since Mulkey's first game back mid-December.

It really annoys me we have to pay for CUSAtv, ESPN+, regular cable for CBS sports, and who knows what for BEIN and Stadium.

While it is probably chump change it beats getting nothing. Far better than when these options didn’t exist and you couldn’t even listen to radio broadcasts unless you lived in Houston...and even that depended on which station carried Rice.

Absolutely. Winning today would literally clinch the tiebreaker advantage against any team mathematically capable of tying us in the standings. We’ve defeated everyone else in the top half of the conference, and us winning today would eliminate remaining opponent 4-6 North Texas from catching us.

It’d almost be like gaining one extra game in the standings.

On the other hand, from Marshall’s viewpoint they could get within just one game of us AND grab a tiebreaker edge if they were to win today. I expect we’ll get Marshall’s best effort this morning!

I pay for espn+ and cable tv/espn3 but follow the other games for free on gametracker or live right here on the parliaments.

At the end of the first, Rice leads 23-17.

Two players from Marshall have all 17. Gotta be one of, if not the worst, defensive quarters in conference play. But we're also up 6 so *shoulder shrug*.

Glad we’re up 6. Marshall’s still got to be happy with that given that we’re shooting at 70% clip. (45% for the Herd).

How different is this than the ODU game where both teams shot in the 20’s and I don’t think we had 23 by halftime?!

I’d feel a little more comfortable with a slower pace but we’re leading on the road and I’ll take that any day of the week...

5-11 from 3 for Marshall and 50% overall will keep anyone in the game.

Marshal crept within 1,but a Grigsby 3-pointer has us back up 33-29 at just over 5:00 left in Q2

Honestly didn't realize that the Marshall women played the same style as the men. Bombs away with very little defensive resistance.
