Curious that ESPN gave a 9pm local time start to UCF and a 6pm local time start to UH.
The Temple game is sold out, but don't expect a full crowd until halftime. Houston freeways tend to be slow in the afternoons and evenings. UH fans might want to plan to leave work right after lunch if they need to go home before the game. The 7 or 8 pm midweek start times help alleviate traffic headaches.
Traffic will also be hindered by the fact that there's some rain expected this afternoon. No fear of flooding, less than a half inch of rain, so just enough to wet the roads. But rain plus a low of 55 degrees plus news about a polar vortex (1000 miles away) will have people driving slow, looking out for ice.
Just a personal observation over the years that many Houstonians are ignorant of the freezing point of water. There are Sub zero temps in Michigan, so we better be careful and drive 30 mph just in case!!!

This game will come down to how tough temple can be. Quinton Rose is so skilled and long and yet he lacks toughness.
Best bet for temple is to shoot lights out.
They will get out toughed, out rebounded and out defended already, on top of Houston wanting to get revenge and Is on their home floor.
They can only equalize all that if they have a phenomenal shooting night.
They’ve been competitive in every road game this year. But they have to shoot lights out to win

Phenomenal analysis here.
Sorry .. not a personal jab but it's always a best bet for a team to win by shooting the lights out. I'm surprised more teams don't just do that more ....

When my wife lived in Houston in the 70s and 80s, half the people were from Michigan and knew better. These must be their kids.

this is the most excited corey has been for a game..we'll see how that plays out
Temple 81
Houston 73
Ok that’s a wild ass homer guess, fact is the American is a tough place to win on the road and Houston is the better team. We beat Houston in Philly due to playing tough physical D and by having Q Rose step up. IMO Sampsons meltdowns also were a distraction for the Houston players. I think coach will have his act together tonight and we will see if the refs let both teams play physical. Temple shooting percentage will have to improve since we are regressing in the rebounding department. Overall we will need all Owls to play their A games to have a chance.

If Temple wins, I would think it would be lower scoring than that. That would be the most points Houston has given up at home since Feb. 10, 2016 against Memphis.

Hurley choosing to rest him on the easy games is a smart move.
By he way I struggled last night. Syracuse was playing BC's fighting Stooks and I couldn't figure out a way for both teams to lose. I was disappointed. But I guess the Syracuse win is good for the Huskies.
Game plan for Temple should be simple, don't get murdered on the boards. They had a +1 rebounding advantage against us in Philly but got waxed by Cincy on the boards here recently. Not really sure what to make of that. Is Cincinnati really that great of a rebounding team or is Temple just inconsistent. Whatever the case, they need to bring a lot of fight today because the want level for the Cougars should be very high. I've had this one circled for a while now. Must win for the Coogs. Defend home court!
