Congrats to all the Western schools today! Hopefully the Dawgs can get some road wins next week. They’re hard to come by in this conference. I’m about to go checkout the Marshall board. They were in a meltdown mode when they lost to Tech Thursday, I can’t imagine what it’s like now.

I thought I had accidentally been shown the womens score when I saw the Marshall usm score. I knew marshalls poor defense would leave them susceptible to a bad loss, but not by 50! Wow.

The USM 101-51 win was USM’s largest margin of victory since the 2013 game vs.........Marshall.



USM won that game 102-46. Some of that game’s features:
- largest margin of victory by a CUSA team in a CUSA game
- USM led 33-5 at the 10:00 minute mark
- USM had a 21-0 run that was part of a 47-4 1st half run
- USM led 49-9 with 3:33 left in 1st
- USM had a 24-9 and 20-4 2nd half runs
- USM had more 1st half points than Marshall had total points

Sadler is a decent coach. He did good for us.

We played flawless basketball. Marshall played about as poorly as they can play. Just a perfect storm.

USM made 42-65 shots (13-27 were 3s)
Marshall made 15-60 shots
USM outrebounded Marshall 46-28
USM led 39:32 of the 40 minutes. Started 2-0, 2-2, then it was all USM.
- after the 2-2 tie USM went on a 29-4 run
- Marshall cut the lead to 17 at the half (48-31)
- USM went on a 27-6 2nd half run then a 15-2 run shortly after that and had a 53 point lead (97-44) with 4:47 left in game
- USM outscored Marshall 53-20 in 2nd half which means USM’s 2nd half points outscored Marshall for the entire game. USM made 23-34 2nd half shots to Marshall 6-30


As stated above.....USM couldn’t miss and Marshall couldn’t make

Yep all that travel and playing 3 games in a week finally caught up with the entire team with three ******* minutes left in the game.

Marshall had just played its third straight road game in 7 nights.

When you add travel, that’s a rough week (that many road games in such a short time.

Not taking anything away from Southern Miss, they’re a quality team, but that’s the first thing I would look at. Just plain road weary.

Don't think espn is smart enough to organize tiebreakers. Probably sorts by conference record then by overall record and then alphabetically

ESPN posts standings giving best overall record the tiebreaker in conferences like ours until the end of the season. They don't track tiebreakers for 30+ leagues.
