What a GREAT game!
Can we say, Rod Wilmont? Two amazingly timed threes and another conference win for Indiana against archrival Purdue. Both teams were 4-1 in conference and now, Indiana sits atop the Big 10 with Wisconsin. The day is good. George Leach stepped up wonderfully and accounted for rebounds, foul shots, field goals, blocks - you name it. Bracey didn't score tooo many (10), but he played well. All in all, it was a great game. I have to say, it did suck losing that 13 pt lead, but you have to give Purdue some credit - they're a good team. Hardly any fouls were called at Assembly Hall tonight, but points from the line did make a difference. IU had many more than Purdue.
Injuries - Ken Lowe came down hard on his elbow on a drive to the basket. It looked nasty. You could tell he was in some serious pain. Donald Perry got hit in the face by Pat Ewing Jr. He was out the rest of the game, also.
But in the end, Rd 1 of the great IU/Purdue rivalry is in the books.

I'm very excited to see the fire and fight back in the Hoosiers! No, they don't have a lot of talent, but at least now they're getting that swagger back that they used to have! I think they could pull out a few more upsets, at least at home!
Good Stuff!
