So you take away the school and there is literally nothing in lubbock. UH’s new facilities rival and exceed tech in some areas, UH is also a much better school academically. So literally the only reason to go to lubbock is the fan base and because its in a big conference.... no wonder why you guys have never won anything...

LOL. Same could be said about College Station, Waco etc.

I hope UH finds their savior and TDECU is full of rowdy UH fans.

Ok and? College station at least has a very very storied history of accomplishments and Waco.... ya you’re right screw Waco...

Sent from my Necronomicon using DemonTalk

Aggy has a history of claiming fake national championships.

If Waco/rape u burnt to the ground, would anyone care?

Just the local hookers that’s about it.

Remember something like that logic about a Memphis BB coach but it turned out OK.

We had a plan though. We knew we were getting Penny. Tubby would have gotten more than two years if CJP didn't run the program completely in the ground. Tubby was just the wrong guy for Memphis BB after CJP

They are interviewing multiple candidates---including a sitting P5 HC. Nobody appears to be scared.

Here is where Im at on this. I agree with something Herman said when he took the UH job. He basically said--"Anyone can bumble into 7 or 8 wins here." I think he's right. More importantly, everyone else in the business appears to agree. When we fired a guy who has won 8 games in back to back seasons---he did not receive a single FBS offer to be a head coach. His best offer was as a special team coordinator for Brohme at W Kentucky.

So, that tells me the market of AD's that hire college head coaches know winning 8 games at Houston means absolutely nothing. Other coaches know it too. They dont think they will only win 8 games here. I dont want a coach thats afraid he might only win 8 a year here.

Lol....besides, if we dont replace our bad coaches with good ones---where will the Big12 find a good coach when they need one?

If the gameplan is to get Dana I'm all in with the firing. I do think it was a bit premature considering the injuries but you guys pay more attention to Houston football better than me. Houston is the best non P5 job. Don't trip UCF fans y'all are number 2.

I knew that part would stir the pot lol. I disagree with you obviously. They have Kansas sure. But top to bottom it’s a tougher conference. I believe the middle of the pack teams in Big 12 are better. That makes winning week in week out more difficult. How many AAC teams do you believe could win the Big 12? UCF with their QB mmmm maybe. Houston a couple years back had a good team, may have had a shot. Anymore you can remember?

Not sure if you are seriously thinking the B12 is all that...

But to answer your question, all of the AAC division winners the past 3 or 4 years would have a shot at winning the B12.

That'd be UCF, UH, Memphis, Temple... throw in Cincy too.

Now you name us all the B12 teams not named OU that have a shot at winning the B12.
We are wayyyy off lol. I believe WVU, Ok, Ok state, Texas, Iowa St has a shot at winning AAC this year alone.

Well, that's certainly a weird way to answer my question, but I'm pretty sure I know why you're avoiding it too. Anyway, that opinion is only valid if you maintain the unfounded prejudice that the rest of the B12 teams are better than the AAC teams I listed.

Now, don't go off tangent and say UH lost to TTech so how could we have won the B12? Remember, I mentioned AAC division winners. Memphis and UCF had those honors this year. The year after UH won the AAC, we beat the reining B12 champ. Soundly.

Then I suppose you'll probably toss out Memphis' bowl game result this year as some sort of proof you're right, but then you'll probably also conveniently forget about OU's blowout loss to 'Bama, so not sure what info you'll glean by that comparison. Don't kid yourself that OU was remotely in that game.

Fact still remains (to answer my own question), that no other B12 team has won the B12 the past 4 years besides OU so I'm not sure how you are inferring that the rest of the B12 are "power" teams that would easily walk through the AAC.

And it's my opinion, they wouldn't/couldn't.

Of course, the B12 could schedule the AAC top teams more often to prove they're better, but they avoid it.
Oh my bad I didn’t properly read your question. Ou won so no hypothetical there lol. Wv & Tx had a shot I guess, strange question.

The writer's credibility in my view drops a notch or two if he believes Houston is only a "small step forward" from FAU.

Now i just hope Dana is to much deniro and Houston skips him.
i don't want anything with a team that can't play defense or win in the big 12.
Although he might actually be better playing in the state of texas with the recruits available compared to WV.

i hope they consider the HC from Troy. but im afraid they will go with someone who already has connections to texas for recruiting purposes.

No, not really, I'm surprised you're not seeing the logical connection. But I'll break it down for you:

1) You asked "How many AAC teams do you believe could win the Big 12?"

2) I replied with this list: "UCF, UH, Memphis, Temple... throw in Cincy too"

3) You insinuated my list was comical, claiming "WVU, Ok, Ok state, Texas, Iowa St" could have won the AAC title this year, meaning they'd have handed UCF their first loss in over two years.

4) My question simply asked, if that's remotely true, why hasn't any of those teams won the B12 title at least once in the last 4 years if they're so powerful ? Also, that it can't be because OU is so mighty because, they got doormatted by 'Bama no differently as if the Tide were playing Kansas. (Carry on my wayward son)

5) You then suggested WVU and UT "had a shot". LOL
[Image: giphy.gif]

Sorry, but I'm just not seeing how your claim the "rest of the B12" would own the AAC holds any water.

Hey between spell check and my heavily cracked screen it happens.

I would love our coach to have some deniro. I can only imagine the press conferences and yelling match with the refs.
