You gotta think Maine is now a favorite to make it to the finals. After getting through Weber, EWU or UC Davis should be easy.

Congrats Black Bears! Impressive defensive performance to get the job done.
Weber St. gets bounced from the playoffs by the CAA (again)!

Great job by Maine. They definitely are built for this time of year. EWU or UC Davis are going to have to face a very tough opponent.

#2 seed Weber rushed for -1 yard against Maine? Dang, they never knew what hit 'em.

You posted this at the beginning of the game. Think about where the cameras were at, and pointing towards, almost the entire game. Its like judging JMU's stadium from the small side at the beginning of the game with a late arriving crowd.

How many times have we seen this year when these idiot refs throw a flag for targeting, take forever to review it, and then come back with "There was no targeting on the play".. I don't know what in the hell she (female side judge who threw the flag) was looking at. The Maine defender clearly used his shoulder & didn't hit the Weber player in the head. It seems like the majority of time when a receiver gets lit up with a big hit, the refs are like "Big hit, let's throw a flag to review it to see if it was targeting.":wingedeagle:

I agree with MaineJeff here. I have no interest in watching all the human interest stuff during the game. The Weber QB who's friend was shot, the Weber's HC's wife who had cancer, the Maine band, the Maine player who died, the couple other things they did during the game, either missing or ignoring plays- do all that stuff at halftime..

Was thinking the same thing. As soph led the nation in rushing last year regular season (1st team AA). Rushed for 144 on JMU, and I'm pretty sure he was the only back that went over 100 on JMU last year. With him they might have won 1-2 more games and been the #2 seed..
Why the hell would he transfer to Liberty?

That said, these teams seem like they operate in sloooow motion. Just unathletic all around. So what does all that amount to? Nothing much I suppose, other than I guess we have a speedy, athletic group of guys that doesn’t play as well as a team as these two squads.
They weren't unathletic on defense..

Maine had a great pass rush all game. Held Weber to -1 yards rushing. The offense was successful running the ball and balanced that with effective passing against a good Weber defense that was throwing a lot of different looks at them. Four interceptions in the second half. The only weak spot I saw was the punter. I see two very well coached teams here, Maine is just tougher and more motivated.
Maine HC better than Weber HC.
I can very much get behind a hire that brings Coach H from Maine to JMU.

Wasn't going to be academically eligible at Maine anyways.

Pulling for them but I think a game at EWU will be tough to win.

Maybe, maybe not. Didn’t Weber beat EWU?

Nice job, Black Bears! The CAA has a semifinal entry yet again. A nice streak that was only interrupted once or twice about 6 to 8 years ago. Well done. They are deserving to be CAA champs.

They did, at Weber, and I believe it was the 2nd game for EWU’s backup QB. Since the Weber game, he and the offense have been on a roll. I think they’re a much better team than they were back in October.
Maine will need to be better on offense than they were last night to beat them.

Absolutely terrible. Even when they were right they were sometimes bad. A couple of times they were way late getting the flags out. 4th qtr the by the Weber St DB on the Maine WR. Harisymiak & the Maine sideline went ballistic. Must have been 5 seconds after the play the side judge threw her flag..

I saw a Maine team capable of winning it all. NDSU is not an explosive offense. They pretty much grind it out. Maine would be a tough match up for them just as we would have been. If Maine doesn’t turn the ball over, I see them winning next week.
