As for 2020, Avenatti expressed concerns about the path the Democratic Party may take in their push to unseat Trump.

Previously, Avenatti fueled 2020 speculation through trips to early primary states like Iowa and New Hampshire, and a political platform posted to Twitter. In all of his presidential teases, Avenatti repeatedly argued for a “fighter” to take on Trump — not necessarily the candidate who would make the best president, but one who wouldn’t hesitate to hit back forcefully against Trump’s often personal attacks.

Maybe he realized that he can't run a campaign from a jail cell for all the money he owes and taxes.
