I get you probably meant “advise”, but telling your kid what to do is long over at this point

I'd wager that what squid means...

Giannotto just tweeted that Norvell said he will sit down with Henderson soon to discuss Henderson's plans for[/u] the Birmingham Bowl and the NFL draft.

Not as long as the dad is paying all the bills. Graduate, take over your bills, & then you get to be a man.

Henderson has been a terrific player for the Tigers. I hope he does not play, goes pro, & makes millions. He deserves it.

If your dad raised you right, no matter how old you get you still listen to him.

My dad's 88 years old and is my hero. I do what he tells me, I do what he asks me and I do what I think he thinks he wants me to do. Best human being I've ever known.
If I were in the position Henderson is in, he'd lay out all the options, pros and cons and tell me it's up to me. If I said I was going back to school, he'd say "bulls$&t, son, take the money."

DeAngelo played in the gmac bowl and broke his leg, he then returned for his senior year
Personally if the Dude plays I think he returns, if he sits, He Gone
However, if Norvell takes another job he could transfer

He's gone regardless if he plays in the bowl or not and transferring is not an option.

Just keep in mind, not all parents are looking out for their children's best interests. Hard to conceive, but true non-the-less.

Just remember, not everyone sees the world through the same filter. Not everyone looks at money as the priority. What he chooses for the bowl or the draft is right because he will decide what’s right for him. Our opinions don’t matter.r

A big impression on me growing up was my dad turning down a big job opp for family. I was faced with a similar situation when I was younger and made the same choice.

In both cases it was the right decision short term and long term. But a multi-million dollar contract wasn’t on the line.

Unless something catastrophic happens Henderson is NOT coming back.

He's not playing in the bowl game. That's been decided for a while

Just a few short years ago we would have begged to be in any bowl game and now we are too good to go to certain ones? It's a chance for us to play a P5 school and continue to build our very new brand. I really do not understand the meaningless stuff, especially from a program that has had most years in the dumps. Hope our team doesn't go with this attitude or we get beat again.
04-cheers Perfect response. I totally agree with you !!!!!!!!!!

Play or pass, DH has earned our respect as a Tiger. I’ll support his decision, as will, I think, most of us.

Exclamation RE: Will Darrell Henderson play in the bowl game?
Well here goes.....My thoughts on Henderson playing in the bowl game. What about all of the other players on the team that have worked their butts off in order to get to a bowl game ? All of the hours they spent with blocking drills in order to spring Henderson for those long runs of his. What if Henderson was going to play in the game but four or five of his linemen chose not too because of the possibility they may get injured ??? Does he not owe them something by standing with them as a team to go win that bowl game against a P5 team ? He would not be there if it were not for the team around him.
Lets use an example of a marine sharp shooter who with his squad is hunkered down under enemy fire. That sharp shooter is the very best in the Marines but he is afraid that he may get injured and he turns tail and runs to the rear lines and the TEAM to fend for themselves without him to take out the enemy fire. Which one would you want on your team ? The one who runs and hides because of possible but not probable injury or the one who stayed by your side to defeat the enemy or the other TEAM ? I am a little older than most posters on this board and I was brought up before all of this me first attitude in today's society so I stick with my team regardless as in "ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL. Thanks for listening to my rant after reading all of the post advising him to run away and leave his team behind.

Imho, it makes the most sense for henderson to go pro this yr. That probably means sitting out bowl for risk of injury.
That is best for him.
But geez, part of me really wants for him to be sent off by the Tiger nation with a huge performance in a bowl W over wake forest.

I don’t think going pro is the question, he’s going pro . . . There’s just zero reason not to nor are there any signs that would lead us to believe he’s coming back next year. Question was, does he play in the bowl game. And I’m still on record as saying that he won’t play nor should he.

Magic 8 ball says Henderson sits.

Magic 8 ball says Norvell returns.
