Houston to ECU?
It's hard to keep up!

Pete Thamel

Sources indicating that East Carolina is targeting JMU's Mike Houston for its head coaching job. He has told media in Virginia he's been offered Charlotte. A fascinating stare down is happening.

Greetings JMU Nation,
It has been slow in Greenville recently. Is there anything new happening in Harrisonburg? Is there any advice or guidance I can provide?

Your buddy,
Terry Holland

Obviously I want Houston to stay but this whole situation would sit so much better with me if he ended up at ECU or App instead of Charlotte.

FootballScoop saying that sources tell them ECU fired Montgomery to go after Houston.

Pete Thamel tweeting the same.

We'll trade you Houston for an AAC invite.

Incredibly obvious the second it happened.

They moved a hundred ton freighter at light speed when Charlotte leaked out. Reversed course on a “wait till Sunday” announcement instantly.

They’ve probably parachuted in an army of people to the Burg already to close the deal.

An extra 250k for JMU!

Greg Madia

If Mike Houston were to leave JMU for ECU, the buyout would be $750,000.

This should be an addition to our business model. Buyouts of football head coaches. We just run through a new one each year. Take that $750K and wager on Richmond to cover the 40 point spread (winning 62-28) and near double our money. We'll have the UB&TC paid for by this time next year along with BFS finished off.

04-cheers

RE: Houston to ECU?
I was going to root for ECU to get Houston purely due to the CUSA apologists trying to vouch for them.

Now that there's a monetary gain for us, go get him ECU!!! How can we be of assistance?

All this speculation and drama reminds me of the old CAAZone when JMU was hiring Sherm's replacement. Whatever happened to Duped, Snowbird and Pimping and all their "sources"?

Wow, that is some ancient history, and, unfortunately, being a geezer, I remember it well.

Don't go spending all of that $750K just yet. We're going to have to pay the buy-out for our next guy. I suspect that will be somewhere in the $200K-$400K range, depending on who we target.
