Our defense couldn't handle Samford offense for more than three quarters, so I am concerned how long they can hold this team. We will need flags galore and some crucial turnovers to bail out the D later in the game.

Jville State did give up 20 and 32 points to 0-4 Tennessee Tech and 2-3 Austin Peay respectively, so our offense should be able to get into the endzone enough to keep us in the game.

I'm skeptical of their tight loss Kennesaw State, who I respect but don't think they're #2 caliber. SOCON went 4-1 against the Big South this year, with the loss being Kennesaw over a struggling 1-4 Samford. Big South was altogether 19-15 in OOC play.

We didn't play LSU this year. 3 of those wins were over Gardner Webb who is 3 - 8.

I assure you that the team is not overlooking the game Saturday. If you know anything about our playoff history since 2013, you know that we've looked ahead before and it cost us.

How many will make the trip? I'm looking for a good, tough football game. Beware that this is being played on Iron Bowl weekend so attendance will be down.

I'll be down there, Can't wait to ses ya'lls stadium.
It a pretty nice place. Home stands have a dorm built into them.

I live in Oxford about 20 miles from JSU. I got my tickets on Monday. Hope to see a good Bucs crowd here. If anybody needs any recommendations let me know.
Closest hotels are in Oxford near I-20.

There are a few in Gadsden, or in Rome, GA that you could stay at that would make more sense than driving down to Oxford...

Rome is a good 1 hr drive. Oxford where the hotels off I-20 is only 20-30 minutes over the new bypass. Gadsden is about 35-45 away.

Ol Roy Kidd at Eastern Kentucky got a stadium with state money by designating it a dorm back in the day. Did the state of Alabama kick in money for the JSU stadium since it’s part dorm?

I wonder why they do not include graduate students in the total enrollment?

Enrollment down 1.5% at the six locally governed state universities— couldn’t find data on each school (below). Enrollment must be down at ETSU this fall. Could be that the Community College enrollment, which is up, is draining on the university enrollment. That initiative should be extend to first two years of the state universities. Don’t believe there has been any mention of ETSU enrollment in the JC Press this fall. It was up fall, 2017 as reported in the Press. Believe the last Board of Trustees meeting said enrollment was around 14,500 with the goal is to increase that to 18,000 by 2026.

It is as if 2018 does not exist.

It doesn't. These are academic year facts - not calendar years. The 2018 academic year is only half complete, that data will be added later.

This is a link to Dr. Noland's October State of the University presentation.

Watched replay of Jack St/Kennesaw game. Gamecocks open as 21.5 pt favorites over Bucs and I can see why. Clemson transfer QB Cooper has absolute cannon for arm and WR Pearson looks NFL ready. Bucs can pull upset but will have to play lights out with no turnovers.

Watched some of that game today. Yea, the QB is good and quick. How does a defense prepare for talent like that? And, is Clemson that superior that he had to go elsewhere in order to play?

Yes the tranfer was warranted. Clemson signed the top QB in nation Trevor Lawrence last year. He is real deal and took over starting job few games into this season as true freshman replacing returning starting QB Kelly Bryant. Bryant actually quit and left team. Lawrence has local connection...his Mom went to Sullivan Central and he was born in Johnson City. Jax St QB saw writing on wall and transferred to FCS so could play immediately. Lawrence's aunt is nurse at local cardiology practice where I work and she filled me in about him.
