And if UCF wins out, watch the committee when they release the final rankings. Once they decide on the 4 teams, they will elevate UCF a couple of spots to make it appear as if UCF was seriously considered.

No, no, it doesn't matter what the other teams do in this conference. We just need to win every game, and screw everybody else! Haven't you read the posts about the Western Division conference race on the football side?
OOC it absolutely matters in football. If every team in this league went undefeated OOC in football UCF would be in the playoff right now.
Same goes for basketball...The better the conference record OOC the more likely we get more teams in the dance.
But to your point the only valid reason for wanting UCF to win if we meet them in the CCG is for extra $s in our pockets.
Which team do you think the committee would leave out to put UCF in - Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma, Washington St? UCF wouldn't even be ahead of backup options Georgia, Ohio St, or West Virginia.
Huh...Where did I say they were going to the playoff this year.
You are creating arguments where there is no disagreement...Calm down. The bottom line is until everyone in the conference starts winning consistently OOC against P5 opponents no one will ever make the playoff. One team going undefeated will not be enough to vault someone into the playoff it is going to take 4-5 teams to have outstanding years to even have one team sniff the playoff.
No, I'm playing along with your hypothetical. Say everyone in the AAC went undefeated OOC this year, like you said we needed to do to get UCF in the playoff. My question still stands. Which 2 P5 conference champs will the committee agree to leave out, along with Notre Dame and the SEC runner up, in favor of UCF?
Or better yet, do you really think if the AAC won all our OOC games this year, and UCF went undefeated, it would be Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame - the top 3 in the CFP today - and UCF? Which means the B12, B10, P12 champs would all be sitting at home.
They are not going to leave 2 P5 conferences unrepresented, unless it's for Notre Dame.

But even that is near impossible in and of itself. Any time any of us starts to rise up, all the P5 has to do is quit scheduling us and/or steal our coaches, putting us in a perpetual rebuild every 3-4 years at best. Not to mention we are always 1 bad hire away from complete disaster.

Exactly, '87. Again, there will also be one current Athletic Director from each of the Power 5 conferences on the Selection Committee. For those who thought a G5 had a chance, and didn't know that, doesn't that make you adjust your opinion?

Which is why this next TV deal is so critical. We need to at least get to $10MM - partly for prestige, and partly to be able to pay our coaches to stay.

We don't have a chance in hell of making the 4 team playoff ever. EVER. If they'll go to 8, or even 6 with 1 and 2 getting a bye, then one P6(G5) school will most likely get a slice of pie.

UCF would currently ranked 5th or 6th because the AAC would have at least 3 ranked teams and the big 10,12 and p12 may be sitting home this year anyway without ucf.
