And Furman closes to 1 (27-28) at the half. Still a game, but big momentum shift for the Ramblers.

Furman's post players are sooo slow. Wonder if Rafferty is healthy? Also don't understand why Furman is staying in their zone, LC's ball movement is too fast for that zone.

LC now up 11.

Furman switched to a man defense and now down only 3, then switched back to zone.

Furman with a good SoCon win. Rafferty produced, but just looked much slower than last year.

What a rollercoaster ride for Furman. Big lead early. Give up a 20-0 run. Down 10. Come back on the road to win.

Furman had to play that second half incredibly shorthanded because of suspensions and injuries. Only six scholarship players played most of the second half.

Rafferty was limping around and in some discomfort much of the second half but just willed the team to a win. There were over 70 of his family and friends in the building. Most of them probably had not seen him play in person since he came to Furman.

The winning play - the dunk by Mounce - was a called play. Coach Richey said after the game that the staff expected Loyola to double team Lyons or Rafferty when they had the ball so they set up a backdoor play to Mounce. Worked perfectly! Mounce's defender looked away for a split second and got burned.

Stunner of a comeback.

They probably did Loyola a favor giving them an early season wakeup call that last year's Final Four magic will not automatically happen again. It will need a lot of work for the Ramblers.

Not a lot of size or muscle for Furman, but skill and tons of grit! Freshman Bothwell is D1 ready. Mounce did his big brothers proud. They'll be a team to reckon with in the SoCon.

Hope Rafferty isn't having more back problems. He deserves a healthy senior season.

Mounce's dunk was #2 last night in ESPN's top 10.
