Men’s Soccer Ranked
Coaches Poll #25. It’s been a while since JMU has been ranked. Nice to see in the first year of the new coach.

Go Dukes!

RE: Men’s Soccer Ranked
This is great news, as a soccer alum it is good to see us return to our rightful place on the national scene. Many folks don't realize this, but we had the 6th winningest D1 MSOC program in the 90's. The highest ranking we got when I played was #7 and in 1999 beat #1 and defending national champion Indiana in the FIU tourney.

Go Dukes!!

Haha.

I’ll pass this along to him. We hung out last Thursday at “politics and pints” by WRVA at Cap Ale in poormond, so he’s still dialed in, just had to give up the “boards” cause it was consuming too much of his time... know the feeling

He’ll be happy to hear he’s still remembered.

Great news on the MSoc squad,

Go Dukes!

8 - Airforce - jmu loss 0-1 2xot
10 - UNCW - jmu loss 0 -2
21 - UC irvine - JMU loss 1-2 2xOT
25 - JMU
26 - VCU - not on JMU schedule
28- NC State - JMU tied 0-0
35 - ODU - not on JMU schedule

4 CAA and former CAA teams in the top 40

i will say again, the CAA should have stayed together and poached from this pool GW, Davidson, App State, wofford, Furman

I pay attention to jmu men’s soccer, and love the premier league and European soccer, but I have zero knowledge of current national collegiate men’s soccer.

So if you had told me our 3 losses were to Air Force, uncw and uc Irvine...I would have thought we were mediocre to sucky, not a top 25 team with all three of those losses to other top 25 teams.

Crazy to say but the Virginia teams may never experience the same level of success that they had nationally as members of the CAA. Mason, VCU- think they ever sniff a Final Four again? At least in Richmond VCU and Mason's case they benefited monetarily (i.e. they sold out) for going to the A-10. In ODU's case they really haven't benefits financially yet if anything it's been a drain on their finances. Hope Wood Selig knows what he's doing. When you work for a University gambling and taking risks aren't things that you should be applauded for. You should be prudent and a steward of finances and budgets that are a lot bigger than just Sports.

But the ODU posters say that they have more money now than when they were FBS?

What happened to the previous coach, Tom Foley? Was he forced out? New coach was evidently on his staff.

And to add to it, W&M blew a 1-0 lead at UNCW and lost in overtime. UNCW is now 1 pt behind the Dukes and have a rescheduled finale at Northeastern (I think Tuesday night) where they can lock home field advantage in the CAAT.
