Despite that we had 5 sacks yesterday as Toledo went to the pass game to try to catch up a early deficit. We did a good job in the second half with NIU containing the QB scramble but we had problems doing so with Toledo's QB.

Attendance for Toledo was 18,000 which is unreal. I went to the NIU game and the announced attendance there was a real 14,800. There was not the same number of people in the stands for the Toledo game as the NIU game.

Yes we did some different things on offense that clicked one was a power sweep with Vann, a few screens and more passes to the flats that did work but did not result in any points. Two four and inches that didn't go anywhere tells you the running game needs work. Our offensive system works best with a dual threat QB which is why they went with Reggie Bell for sooo long. Is Grissom that guy? I don't know. Steibling has better wheels that people give him credit for. Hutchinson don't know. I like Jackson long term but don't see him playing this year. Really like Oakes at TE, Rush at DE, and Bogan, Parker and Myrick with Neal all contributed yesterday. McGee as a walk on shows you why he earned a scholarship. I point this out because these guys have to step into some shoes.

Are we going to be healthy for Ball St? Glass is likely out maybe for the season, don't know about Moody who was on crutches, Calderon or Kelly.
Was Moody out? I saw him on the field and a different #13 on crutches.

Good eye Wooden yes it wasn't Moody but later in the game it was Swoopes Jr a walk on WR out of Glenville Rachwal came and talked to him at the beginning of the first half and gave him a hug. I guess that's why Rachwal is a captain. Sorry for the confusion.

Glass will be back. Moody is fine, wasn't him on crutches. Calderon and Calhoun will be back after they sit out the first half for their targeting penalties. Kelly has been hurt all year, may/may not miss more time.

Glass will be back? Need some details on that. Next week? Next year?

Wonder if the injury was say a sprained ACL, MCL, etc.?

Dear Friends,
Did anyone notice that in the defensive end rotation that Thuran Rush and Vile Valasti got some significant minutes? Valasti is listed as a senior, and seemed to have disappeared from any notice this year. Rush is living up to being a good defensive end.

Same rotation all year basically, especially in the 1st half. Second half he tightens up the rotation a bit. On third and longs they move Rush or Harris inside and take one of the big DT's out.

5 sacks against Toledo as Neathery gets a little more aggressive with DLine stunts and loops, and LB blitzes. 1 each for Harris, Crosby, Rush, Pickett, and Rachwal.

Overall held Toledo to 376 total yards, and got 1 Int. QB was only 12/27 (44%) with 1TD/1Int. Limited their stud receivers to 47/44/37 yards respectively. Toledo offense was averaging over 45 points/game and nearly 500 yards.

Watched the replays of those targeting calls. All 3 were weak calls. Hope the staff has the NCAA take a look.

Still no excuse for UT's #43 for shooting a bird to the EMU students. That was classless.

I agree they were very weak.

Nickle you are correct about the crowd, at least on the West side of the Stadium. Not even close to the Northern Illinois crowd.

Rush is a beast, can't wait to see what he can do next year with more playing time.

Huge leg brace and crutches allowed Glass to move around the sidelines in the second half. My feeling is he probably won't have a MRI until Monday and the season is likely over based on what I saw.

The only good sideline news was Brogan Roback catching the throwaway by the Toledo quarterback.
