That's not going to be easy to do. 23 miles of water kept the Wehrmacht from ever being able to invade England. A couple of thousand would be a lot more formidable.

There's only one country capable of launching the level of amphibious operation it would take to invade the mainland US and they have no need to do so because it's already theirs..

The problem is that even if the initial split is amicable there will eventually be war because eventually the blue sections will run out of money/food/etc. and will try and take it from the red sections.

With what? They're not going to spend the money to have a strong military. And they won't be able to cry to congress or the courts, since the jurisdictions will be separate.

There's always someone willing to foot the initial bill. I could see China funding the blue forces if it meant harming the red.

I hate to say it, but I really think that may be where this is going. Even worse, maybe where it needs to go.

the foundation has been laid already. Let the lefties have the border states from Arizona up the the west coast and across the canadian border down the east coast to New Jersey. Only states that really get screwed in that are Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota.
