How do you guys like the job he is doing so far? From what I've read it seems he has improved recruiting. Do you guys think he can return ECU back to its winning ways? Personally, I hope you guys can turn it around quick...it'd be cool to see you in the Big East in the future. Good Luck.

Last year was not a good indicator of the program. We are coming back. Expect more than the predictions this year.

Thanks for the reply, rodtheman. I'm a HUGE college football fan and I remember when ECU was looking good. Personally, I think your program has alot of potential. Good luck this season and I'll be dropping by to see how the Pirates are doing.

Last year was a bad year to be a pirate but like rod said its not a clear indicator of our program. Our struggles last year can be attributed to our Former OC Stockstill thank god hes gone. I dont know if you watched any of our games on TV last year but the offense was severly lacking. We had most of our returning Offense starters from the year before and he messed everything up. We had a senior laden O-Line and they switched from a finesse game which they had been used to for along time and changed to a power type game which they werent accustomed to. Our coaches didnt really know our players that well so it took time for everything to gel. We are switching QBs to a QB probably better suited for the new offense that we are going to run.

Defense last year could have been better especially running defense. Our passing defense was actually 31st which isnt too bad but our rushing defense was so bad it made our total defense to 81st. This year we return the nations leading tackler who was honorable all american. Probably should have been but because of our record he didnt get on a team. Our secondary was young last year starting 3 freshman. They now have experience which will be benefitial. We brought in some Quality JUCOs to help fill some holes two safeties even though one might play LB. We expect to win and wont give up. We got hosed in one game last year against USF of all teams. So we should have been 2-10 not much better but better than 1-11.

I expect to do well this season just like i always do. Now that the learning curve is over with this team has something to prove to everyone. I still felt like we should been the ones invited not USF. I truly think you will be disappointed in that choice. If market was the major factor, keep in mind that our market isnt truly and fairly represented in NC. We have close to 10,000 alumni in Raleigh that watch us, and the counties that surround Greenville count for the Raleigh market even though they are closer to Greenville. The counties that watch us up north but are still in eastern NC count for VA and not to mention the fact that we have a large number of Alumni in the Virginia Tidewater area. If our market included all of the counties it should it would be close to the market of Orlando. Fact is people watch us. Even when we were independent and we had our own TV contract we had good ratings. We have been trying to get into the Big East for years, even when we were winning we got passed up for VT back in the early 90's and USF now. By the way USF has never beaten us in basketball. I truly hope if there is expansion in the Big East in the future the current members really consider ECU. Louisville is going to try and keep us out like they tried to keep us out of C-USA but dont listen to them. Im still clueless why you had to add Marquette and Depaul. Id like to also mention Marquette has never beaten us in Greenville and they were ranked in the top 10 both times and we almost beat them in Milwaukee. We lost by less than 5. Im sorry for the rant just thought id give you some information on the school that i love. Good luck this year. Go pirates!!!

I really think ECU made a huge mistake by firing Logan. ECU had a bad year. That's it. Every program has its down cycles, but Logan would have righted the ship. Heck, bad coaches don't get calls from Miami to be the new HC. The team was HORRIBLE last year and it happened to be Thompson's first year. I'm reserving judgement on him until after this year, but another 1-11 season will prove that Logan should still be on the sidelines.
