For all you east coast dwellers, get your preparations done, for all you vacationers on the east coast, leave now and get out of the way for the people that live there.

Hurricane parties should be scheduled for Wednesday!!! 04-cheers

Looks like it's going to barely miss Savannah. All we'll probably get is rain and some rough waves.

Chants fans need to heed caution though. Y'all be safe!

As many times as that path has changed in the past day or so, if I were in Savannah i'd still be making plans to leave myself just in case. The flooding there would be crazy.

True words. It doesn't take much to kick the Savannah River waters above the sea wall and onto River Street. This is from Irma last year:

Luckily my neighborhood is at a high point in downtown, so as long as we don't get intense winds, I should be good.

In savannah too. I live near Lake Mayer, some of the streets near me were flooded badly, but I'm in a higher point in the neighborhood. I dont need any more storms to come and test anything around me.

Coastal playing Wednesday at 2 PM @ Campbell.

Just wow.

Has there been another time since the split of the subdivisions that an FBS team has played at an FCS school?

Army @ Yale in 2014
also ga state played at utc when they first moved up to the fbs

Weather Channel now says Saturday in Clemson will be mostly sunny, 90 degrees, 5 mph winds and 20% chance of shower. That sounds like football weather HOWEVER the Governor might call almost all state troopers to coastal areas, which would make traffic management an emergency situation at Clemson. This happened in a previous year much to the chagrin of my Clemson neighbors.

Another in Savannah here, across the creek from Isle of Hope. Though from what I'm seeing currently I think that there's very little chance of us being affected much, we'll be heading west on Thursday to pick up friends and head to Clemson on Friday. If the game is moved or cancelled we'll deal with it accordingly.

Just wow.

Not sure "wow' is the correct term you're looking for.
FBS @ FCS is a no-go (at Campbell, no less. Shouldn't be an option IMO) and it puts CCU more directly in the path of the storm. I'll be surprised if this game gets played. CCU's AD needs to re-visit this decision.

The problem is that Conway is closer to the coast. They want to keep people out of the evacuation routes, I presume. Easier to get clear of the storm from Buies Creek than from Conway, especially if the storm jogs southward.

Not on Wednesday

The team would be moving away as a group anyway

no one is more aware of where Conway is than I.

I do need to correct myself: Overlooked the mention that they are now playing WEDNESDAY, not Saturday.

I stand by my assertion this game should never be played in Buies Creek. South Columbus High School or St Andrews College would be better than playing at an FCS school.

Even though this is a return game, I'd be fine with playing this game in Hattiesburg, or maybe Chattanooga or something (if that's possible)

Both App and Southern Miss have a bye on 10/6. If the game is moved, it will likely be to that date.

Thanks, I’m well aware. That’s why I said wow. I don’t love the decision to play there. Bothers me a lot actually.

However, it’s not like we just went out there and scheduled an away game at an FCS program. This is an EXTREMELY extenuating circumstance.

It is really about the only option

Schedules don’t allow a later date

High schools are out because state employees are not allowed to work on an athletic event in this scenario

CCU was going to be traveling as a team leaving on Tuesday and staying together practicing look at it like the first step on our travel

Campbell by being private has the latitude to get employees to work a game while we don’t

If coastal wants to have any chance at going to a bowl, they have to play this game. NCAA doesn't care where they play their FCS opponent, just that it gets played.

I get it but at the end of the day what’s more important getting to a bowl in year two or worrying about playing at a FCS stadium because of a hurricane?
If CCU wins they’re 3-0 and halfway to Bowl Eligibility.

Playing at the camels cant be worse the GaSo playing in Legion Field last year.

Their stadium holds 5,000, which is twice as many people showed up for that GaSo game.
