I think SMU is better then people want to give them credit for. I think the Mustangs will make it back to a bowl game, after what is now certain to be a tough start to the season.

Don't see SMU being able to go 5-3 in conference which is what they would need to do to get to bowl eligibility. I think 2-6 and 3-9 on the year is more realistic.

I think SMU picks up wins against Navy, HBU, Tulane, UConn and Tulsa. Somewhere in there I think they upset another team in the AAC.

Unfortunately Tulane, UConn, and Tulsa are all on the road. No way they win all of those and they might not win any of them. 3-9, maybe 4-8 is possible. They aren't going to upset UCF, Memphis, or Houston. UC maybe but even that I wouldn't lay money on.
