Exclamation In case size matters
At 56,862 the Liberty Bowl is the third largest stadium in the American. It is larger than 1 SEC stadium, 5 BigX stadiums, 7 PacXII stadiums, half of the BigXII stadiums, and 5 ACC stadiums. There are only 2 Independent stadiums which are larger. As long as attendance continues to grow there will be little doubt that Memphis has a major NCAA football program. There are already many Power V programs that are not better situations for a head coach. Keep coach Norvel and GTG.

You hopefully realize that it was expanded to generate interest and approval from the NFL, so that we would be well-positioned to do just that.

Imo, the expansion has hurt Tiger football. If we were at the original 50K, I think we might have sold 35-40K season tickets because people don’t like to be left out. Now they know they can walk up and get a ticket any game. Like when the coliseum was 11,200 their was a long waiting list unless we were bad and couples fought over season tickets in divorce proceedings.

We will never make money until we can sell 35-40k tickets at $20-30 per seat.

The expansion of Liberty Bowl Stadium hurt Tiger football and killed our chances at an NFL team.

And, if we had a full time person accountable for increasing ticket prices and ticket sales in all sports, whose head is on the chopping block if he/she does not perform...we will under achieve. Remember....Coach Cal had to come up with the FREE TV promo to attempt to fill the upper deck of the FEF. That is not his job but...he had to do it because....no one at the U of M was accountable for that job.

I went by the capacity given by the university, you must realize the Tigers cover the seats in the south end zone to make capacity lower for appearances . That explains the difference of about 2,000 in capacity. Neither the Southern Heritage Classic nor the Liberty Bowl game covers the end-zone seating.

I used the capacity that the University states for the Liberty Bowl. You must remember the university covers the seating in the South end-zone. This explains the difference in capacity of about 2,000 between the Tiger games and the Liberty bowl game.

NO. The north end zone has been 'family friendly' for quite a while now.
