The tunnel vision is impressive. CUSA on pace to go 6-8 for the week. Congrats on beating SMU.

Impressed by Fine's numbers. Those are Doughty, Higgins like numbers. Nice performance. Better than I expected. Good win.

One game at a time. Congrats on beating Rice in a much closer game against a much worse team. I'd say Houston ought to be pretty nervous about now.

Without a doubt, I'm worried about the coogs this season. We very well may not be good. That doesn't take away from the suckage of the conference that continues to throw stones when their house is glass af.

This felt like a complete win. Something I can't point to for some time back.

RE: Game Thread: SMU@North Texas
Got back home from the game late last night, and I'm finally getting on here to post some thoughts.

My take aways...

1. It was a good win- SMU has talent, but the Ponies might need more time to mesh. If they are a bowl team again this season, this win will be more impressive in December.

2. UNT's passing attack is legit- I think everyone that questioned if our passing game could replicate last season's numbers now has their answer.

3. UNT misses Jeffery Wilson- Wilson was a special RB. The platoon that rushed the ball last night were serviceable, but no one was ready to step up and claim the job. SMU front seven did a solid job of not letting the Mean Green rush the ball.

4. UNT might have a defense- SMU rushed for a total of 4 yards, and 0 points on our 1st string defense. All of the Ponies points came against backup in the 4th quarter after the game was decided. The UNT defense didn't play this well in any game last season.

5. Special Teams could be special- Cole Hedlund (Arkansas transfer) hit on all 4 field goal attempts (one from 51 yards out), and went 4 for 4 on extra points.

Didn't get to stay for the match, but I heard there is some footage on social media. If I find any, I'll post it.

Here are the highlights from last night's game. Anyone questioning Fine's arm strength needs to watch the pass at the 1:23 mark. Fine added 10 pounds of muscle over the off season (benching 315 now), and when he puts extra on the ball, it is noticeable.

Good stuff. And props to UNT. You guys kicked SMU's azz.

That said, SMU looked like the worst tackling football team since, well, Sonny Dykes' LA Tech teams from 2010-2012. 03-lmfao Seriously bad tackling by SMU on a lot of those plays.
