Even if the overall number is the same, I wonder how this might impact the exact seeding. Instead of a mid major from a 1 bid conference landing as a 15 seed based on RPI, could this see the possibility of ending up a 14 seed instead, or vise versa?

Will this impact the selection process for the NIT as well?

I'm confident the NCAA will continue to seed the best mid major teams much worse than they deserve.
