The former quarterback from Oregon State who agreed briefly to transfer to NIU caught 12 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in 2017 before receiving a suspension for an assault charge in October. He has now transferred to Texas Tech and somehow received a waive so he can play immediately. Did NIU dodge a bullet here?

I will ride with the players we have and those that want to be here!! This D is going to be special this year and even better next season in my opinion.

Childers will make the improvements he needs and I feel like we are in for a great season this year and maybe something very special next ! As I have said the 2015 class was and is one of if not the best classes NIU has had in a long time !!

and the class of 2016 and 17 will help push this team next year to a level of excellence we all want !!

I don't want NIU to lower their standards on the off chance a guy can throw a deep ball.

I feel you are right, special football coming our way I pray. I have concern at QB, mainly with depth. Childers will be much improved.

I was all for Collins coming here then, but he seems way too flighty at this point. Must be trying to set a record for playing for the most different teams.

pretty sure he came down w a rare illness a few years ago too after he decided to stay at OSU and missed a lot of time. hes hasn't been on the field much the last few years

Sounds like a headache. Maybe he’ll get his stuff together. I’m ok with the group we have.
