Curious why we haven't had any news or updates about the BUCS since June? I believe the last thing written in the JC Press was back in June when they were having camp. Haven't seen anything all summer from the SID about practice, the returners, or the newcomers?? Anybody got any updates on the team? Surely there is something worth talking about besides the schedule?

I would have to guess that, like football, they are waiting for the actual first day of practice before they print anything.

It is way too early for the media to start publishing articles about the newcomers, etc. Everything right now will be, and should be, about football season around the region. When the schedule is published, there will be an article about that. When the open practice and bluenanza (which they should consider eliminating if it is in Freedom Hall again), there will be an article about that, etc.

Follow Forbes and the men's basketball twitter feed, and you will be much more informed than relying on the news organizations.

Actually, they've been having "actual" practice since the end of June. I see summer practice updates on Twitter and Facebook from other programs all across the country. Just curious why at the very least our Sports Information Department wouldn't update our fanbase on the progress of a program that people are very excited to hear more about??

This is the time of year in basketball that NO news is GOOD news.

Looks like usable muscle, not just bulk. Mladen looks like Steve Rogers after the Captain America treatment.

As Squeak says, got to see the skills that go with it. But I have a hunch that Forbes' guys are not just working in the weight room

Now, if we could just get them to play with their shirts off this season.

Dang, had forgotten about those shirts and skins games as a kid. There was this gym downtown owned by the local textile mill, and open to the public. We would have some knock down drag out shirts vs skins games in there on Saturdays and school holidays.

I started to post a picture of Fletcher Mageee as a comparison and add some snide remark about Wofford's conditioning program, but I stopped myself. "You're better than that," I said (actually I'm not).

They’ll all look good getting off the bus. Question is can they stay on the floor. All 3 have missed time this summer. This groups toughness is still a question mark. Three months left to figure it out.

I know this: they won't beat UNCG, or even Wofford, without being plenty tough.

I don't agree with the questioning of the players toughness.

Toughness has nothing to do with injuries. Many times players try to come back to soon after an injury or try to play thru injuries but the outcome is bad. That is why coaches and players no longer have any say in when they can return to action. Only the medical staff can clear a player for participation.

Bo and Mladen played thru injuries all season. Jeromy tried to come back and play but his shoulder wasn't up to it.

Good points - Bo played even tougher than his body allowed last year. Toughness seemed to be Jeromy's calling card in the early reports last year. And nobody can say that Mladen did not play tough.

Purl's comment interests me because he seems to be very close to the coaching staff, and there seems to be a message here that toughness
has to be demonstrated all over again this year, even 3 months away from the season.

EDIT: That's kind of a generic truism. But he states it as a flat challenge that on the part of 3 of this teams' core players "toughness is still a question mark". Strong words.
