The playoff committe has been in place for 4 seasons. 2 of the 4 years--exactly half of the time so far--the G5 representative has had a loss. Boise was picked the first year at 11-1 with a loss to Ole Miss, who finished #9 in the playoff rankings. Houston made it in 2015 with a win over Louisville and a conference loss to Connecticut.

Clearly, you either haven't been paying attention or are a troll.

The highest ranking non-P5 Champion automatically earns a spot to a New Years Bowl. Getting into the Playoff may be impossible, but getting to a big bowl is not. We could be 9-4, as long as we win CUSA, if we're the highest ranked non-P5 champion, we're in.

Lol...wow...You boys just don’t understand do you...I will try to explain it to you. Answer this question...what are our chances in your minds of us going to a big bowl with one to four losses as you bring up?...My answer would be less than 1%...and what are the chances of us beating a top ten team at their home field with their refs playing all on the road? What are the chances of us remaining exactly where we are in today’s football senario playing these games...I will say 99.9%.

Why are we arguing January hypotheticals when the team will struggle to win 4 or 5 games and lose to Auburn by 5+ touchdowns?

Why do you people do this to yourselves?

Because it’s the beginning of August and the season hasn’t started. This is the best time of the year because I can stand in my shower in the morning daydreaming about us pulling out a miracle win vs Auburn, knowing good and well it’s going to be a 48-6 type game.

The history of the playoff committee to this point says our chances of going to a big bowl with only 1 loss to Auburn are pretty damned good being that HALF the teams who have earned said bid HAVE ACTUALLY HAD ONE LOSS. You can “say” whatever the fudge you want, but it doesn’t change reality.

And that’s all I’ve got to say about that. I’ve better sh*t to do than continue arguing about this when the facts are clear as day.

Again, maybe we’d be a bit farther along in this whole football thing if we had more fans with some modicum of functional intelligence.

I would basically agree with that.....there's been a few 'questionable' over the decades.......but you know going in.....

I witnessed many a vic over SEC teams and only seen a few where I thought the refs played that large a role.....

today's game is different.....if we don't find a qb that can execute, we don't have a chance against AUB.......that's just the way it works today......

they're simply bigger, faster, stronger, AND with a full compliment of schollys....

at some point, you have to recognize the reality of such.....
Just wanted to remind you how SECheat refs treat their own. You think they will ‘keep it fair’ against any one of us nobodies?

there's no question we got hosed in a handful of games over the years.....I admitted such in my original post.....

it doesn't change the premise where we exist in today's version....replay holds their feet to the fire more these days.....we're simply not as big, strong, and fast as they are at the top.....and AUB is going to be bad-ass this year.....

Boise State also lost to Air Force in the regular season that year.

Sometime the ignorance is very loud on here...How many of those teams made it to those bowls by playing a whore game on the road to a top ten team? In the SEC?

The stupidity remains with you. What looks better, your only loss being to a top 10 SEC team on the road, or the 1 loss being to Air Force?
