Interesting that you did not put TAMU, TCU, or Baylor. Is there more to the story with Texas Tech that I have missed? I think Arizona State makes a lot of sense to be matched with TT, and I wish New Mexico could get their act together because I think that could be neat rivalry.

My opinion only but no desire to play those 3. If we ever get an invite to the SEC, I realize we would have to play A&M.

Tech will never be in the SEC so it won't be an issue

RE: Who Are Your School's Top Potential Rivals?
For Clemson:

From the ACC
FSU
Va Tech
Ga Tech

From the SEC:
South Carolina (of course)
UGA (my personal all time favorite team to play & our closest competitor at only 75 miles from Clemson)
Auburn (Clemson's twin)

Not sure they would agree but I would also say Texas A&M (2 very interesting games a couple of years ago and 2 games coming up) and Tennessee

We've enjoyed hosting y'all and wouldn't mind at all if you got a SEC invite and we got to play you regularly!

Never say never but I understand your POV. Inviting UT and Tech would crash the SEC A&M party and I know John Sharp would hate that.

John hates the fact that Texas Tech is moving forward with a vet school in Amarillo.

I note how you acknowledge your only possible path to the SEC is begging UT to try and get you in with them. Same way you got into the Big 12. Maybe at some point try to get into a conference on your own merits? Surely there must be so many of them you don't need to ride UT's tailcoats again?

And congrats on (sort of) getting a vet school. Our law school that you fought for decades is doing great BTW! Only 5 years old and already ranked higher than Tech's

Texas Tech will get in on our own merits and I certainly believe we are more valuable than TCU. 04-cheers

No, John Sharp can hand deliver the invite when he is invited to our ribbon cutting ceremoney at the new Texas Tech Vet School.04-cheers

Do you think A&M has any plans to play TCU or Baylor? A&M has only played TCU once since the SWC folded.

It took 20+ years for A&M to make a move. Tech can ride out the Big 12 GOR and happily accept the SEC invite from John Sharp.

I don't think "your" historic rivals in Waco and Ft. Worth make the cut.

Like I said, come on back the second you have that invitation. In the mean time go play on the main board and start a thread about how Tech doesn't need UT and will get an invite to the SEC all by themselves! The realignment junkies deserve to know about this new development!

You 1st----- Tell the world that A&M's historic rivals are small private schools who likely get left behind when Texas Tech moves to the SEC.

Be sure to mention that A&M hasn't played one of your historical rivals since the break up of the SWC in the regular season.

UTK = UGA, AUB, BAMA, UF, UNC, CLEM, VT, SCAR, FSU, WVU

NAVY = ARMY, ND, WVU, UMD, ECU, RUTG, PITT, UVA, ODU

Why no AFA? Honestly, I've just never felt any emotional connection for this supposed rivalry.

No UK? That hurts my feelings a little, vandiver.

I enjoy every Commander's Cup game but Air Force is clearly the black sheep. I wonder if it'd be different if they were geographically closer like somewhere in Pennsylvania or Virginia or somewhere. I know the original idea, before Colorado, was to have the base in Wisconsin. They would either be an independent, in the MAC, or perhaps in CUSA?
