I think players like Chris Johnson is just what we need. That Kid wants to play. He was getting mad that he couldn't return the kick offs (too far back in the end zone), so he finally started bringing them out. Then he had the 86 yard TD run!

He has fire, and it is just what this team needs! :ecu:

A few plays before the loooooong run, I told the dude behind me that if Johnson got free, he was gone. I ended up looking smart. I love when that happens.

Johnson got a pass on a hitch route in the first scrimmage, turned, and flew past three or four defenders in the next 25 yards and pulled away from EVERYONE in the last 50 to the endzone. I went to work the next day and was telling anyone who would listen about this freshmen from Orlando who was the fastest kid I'd ever seen on a football field in person.

So a buddy from work who heard me (many times, I might add) talking about Johnson went to the game with me - his first college game of any sort. He's a new non-traditional student at ECU, so he kinda had to. Anyways, as soon as Johnson halfway hurdled past the line of scrimmage on the big play I just started screaming at the top of my lungs "I told you dammit, that's the kid, that's my boy" over and over again. That play was worth the price of admission alone. If that's the kind of kid JT can get in here, we're going to be okay. :)

Yes sir! Hope he stays healthy... in all seriousness, he has that 'potential all-american' quality to him. :)
