Said she doesn't do Halloween and two days later posted in the neighborhood facebook page about racists approaching her and she was scared again.

I am not sure if she was referring to my daughter(who was 5), her mixed friend Nevaeh, myself, my wife, or the white mom/black dad of a little girl who was my daighter's friend but she is in fact a self righteous racist on the scale of Trump.

We agreed on the bigger point, but had a disagreement on how to get to that point. When I emailed her about it, I told her about how I read her and told her about an encounter when I questioned her for praising Chris Rock while being critical of Three 6 Mafia; I was a little flustered during the encounter so may have been a little more nonsensical than usual. Lady told me it was the worse encounter she’s had in Memphis and that includes racists calling her the n-word.

Personality-wise, I can’t vouch for the woman. I might not like her either if I got to know her. But I generally liked her writing and often agreed with her perspective.

I agree that she is an intelligent and talented writer.

Working her transparent agenda into almost every article she wrote does make her a one trick pony as far as I'm concerned.

So... don’t know if you ever actually lived in Memphis. When Dr. Herenton went off the deep end (specifically after the 2003 election), and said people could get out of the city if they didn’t like how he was running things they could get out and he spent the 2007 election making it a black versus white election, Latty wasn’t supporting Dr. Herenton. Actually vocal about that around these parts.

But when you say Herenton was blaming white folks, and don’t explain what you mean, then it seems as if you are just pulling something out of your derrière.

What I can't stand is one-sided yellow journalism. She's a one trick pony and it get's her paid. Good for her. She just won't get any of my money.

You can love her and side with her all you want to. I can disagree with her all I want to. See how it works?

She didn’t do “yellow journalism.” She was always a columnist and not a reporter. There was a period she became an editor, but it was brief.

Yellow journalism was about putting sensational stories out as news even if it was misleading or false. Not writing opinion pieces.

I enjoyed reading Wendi Thomas for years. I didn’t agree with her all the time. But she was a good writer who could explain her opinion. She wasn’t an one trick pony and if you didn’t read her, how would you know?

As far as the conservative comment, once the CA did have an editorial board that was overwhelming white men and they would solidly endorse conservative candidates, especially for the higher offices.

I read her enough to get pissed at her agenda.

I agree that she is an intelligent and talented writer.

Working her transparent agenda into almost every article she wrote does make her a one trick pony as far as I'm concerned.

The only time she came down on Willie, for example, is when he'd do something that was (in her opinion) embarrassing for her agenda.

I think most Memphians, black and white, think Dr. Herenton was a good Mayor for much if not most of his tenure. So whatever “agenda” you think she had, it probably wasn’t an agenda which led to her being critical of Herenton as much as it was Herenton’s own actions.
