With 10 verbal commitments for its 2019 recruiting class as we approach Independence Day, Central Michigan is doing very well, particularly in Michigan. So, who else are the Chippewas close with? Here are four recruits CMU is in good shape with:

1) ATH Kyron McKinnie-Harper (6-0, 185) of Detroit Cass Tech - Rumored to be a package deal to CMU with Cass Tech teammate Ormondell Dingle, who committed to the Chippewas June 27. McKinnie-Harper has 12 FBS offers, but on June 19 announced a final six of CMU, Iowa St., Syracuse, Washington St., Cincinnati and WMU.

2) WR Darrell Wyatt (6-3, 180) of Detroit King - Wyatt was all set to commit to BGSU, then received an offer from the Chippewas June 23. He is an emerging FBS talent who plays at Detroit King with QB Dequan Finn, who committed to CMU in April.

3) OT Wes Dorsey (6-6, 245) of Knoxville (Tenn.) Grace Christian Academy - The Chippewas offered Dorsey May 18 after watching him practice. He has since received an offer from Western Kentucky and a handful of FCS schools, while Cincinnati is recruiting him too. Dorsey visited CMU June 20 for its Big Man Camp and reportedly liked what he saw.

4) OT Cameron Vaughn (6-6, 300) of Haines City (Fla.) High School. The Chippewas offered Vaughn May 18, the same day as OT Wes Dorsey. Vaughn also reportedly had an early offer from South Carolina. He is already close to an FBS game-ready offensive tackle and would be a good get for CMU. Offers - CMU, South Carolina, UCF, BGSU and Kent State.
