Good, let this become a mainstream D prerogative. Can only help the R's come election time as it's no way to get back those voters that switched to Trump last election. It will just alienate them more.

Our local Fox affiliate has a Question of the Day thing that they post for you to answer. This question asks if ICE should be abolished and 88% said NO. So I'd say that pretty much that question can be laid to rest. If in an affiliate that encompasses a Demoncraptic stronghold 88% said NO you can probably see what the nation thinks.

So, with this I'd say that the Demons should keep harping on these dividing issues and see what it's gonna get them.

Does the left wing of the board think this is a good idea? Maybe I'm missing the boat, but it really seems to me the left is going to scare off a bunch of moderates with the tactics and things they are doing, heading toward the midterms.

It would be better if Republicans can run against the issue in November. The DNC chairman already said the New York socialist was the future of their party. Tie his statement together with the ICE issue in a nice bow and many Republican candidates can just run against the dem party in November. They wouldn't even need to engage in debates with the dem candidates. The negative ads alone will be more then most dem candidates will be able to overcome. And those dem candidates that try to distance themselves from socialism and disbanding ICE, we label as wishy-washy, and inconsistent in their liberal beliefs, which means we question whether they are being honest. If done right, most mid-term voters will run from the dem party's candidates.

Every single Democratic senator was a co-sponsor of this bill. That's incredible.

In typical progressive fashion they are simply calling for a change without any ideas on how to do it. No different than after every mass shooting incident and the calls for better gun control.
