Well that's interesting. I'm wondering if we'll see some of our talented freshmen get playing time this year.

I think eventually we will get to the point where every player gets 5 full years regardless of play time... They can choose to leave after 4 years for NFL or graduation... and still be able to transfer for their 5th year without penalty... Then you can apply for an additional year based on injury status... but the concept of red-shirting might just go away entirely. This makes the most sense going forward especially for the non P5 schools who can spend more time getting their players up to game speed and likely field more competitive teams going forward... just a thought.

The week before the last 4 games of the season could be like the baseball trade deadline. Buyers and sellers. Sellers play the freshman squad.

This RS rule is one that actually seems a positive for a change.
