Great person through and through.

A great athlete, and a great person. She had a tremendous impact on ODU and on women’s basketball. She will be sorely missed. RIP

Sad sad day. RIP Annie!

So sad, just 56. She was a pioneer, a legend and one of the best. RIP Anne, always a Monarch.

ODU Legend. So sad.

So sad. I remember walking by the picture of her, Nancy, and Inge Nissen walking into the Fieldhouse countless times. Sadly I never got to see her play. My favorite Anne Donovan ODU memory happened in Greensboro at the 2008 Sweet 16. The Lady Monarchs were fresh off the OT win over Zima St. at The Ted and were about to play UConn. Anne was coaching the national team and all the UConn fans were sure she was there to see Maya Moore (she probably was a little). They were struck dumb when she plopped down in the middle of the ODU section with her blue and white pom pom.

I always loved Anne. So shocked and sad to read this news. She was a total class act through and through and loved ODU.

So sad for Donavan and her family. I was at the final four in Indianapolis the year Butler lost to Duke in the finals. Donavan was announced at half time as a Hall of Fame inductee along with Larry Bird and others. She is a true legend at ODU and all of basketball.

I have posted that pic in the past calling it the greatest photo in ODU sports history.

On my drive home through Seattle, the radio announced her passing and listed her many accolades including Hall of Fame and WNBA coach of the champions, Seattle Storm.
