UNT men's hoops team heading to Italy this summer

North Texas made quite a few memories on its way to winning the College Basketball Invitational in Grant McCasland’s debut season as head coach that wrapped up in March.

UNT’s encore campaign will include quite the opening act, a preseason trip to Italy.

The 10-day journey will begin Aug. 12.

“Everything is being finalized at this point in terms of the cities we are going to,” a UNT spokesman said.

UNT will play a series of games during the trip that will help it prepare for the 2018-19 season. UNT is expected to be among the top teams in Conference USA after a breakout campaign under McCasland.

Hopefully this will have the team in a more midseason form for OOC. I think im more excited for this coming season than I have ever been.

This is huge for UNT. Auburn's success last season was largely contributed to the team gelling as a unit during its Italy tour.

Keep a watch on 'em around those Italian ladies. One thing I remember about my short time in Italy back when I was in high school was the girls. lol
