In our Rice tradition of ultra-super-secret promotions, this probably hasn't been well publicized, but for the Rice-SMU game:
Throwback Saturday against SMU. The promotion is $5 gets a general admission ticket, game program and soft drink. They also promise fireworks after the game. The only catch is that tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 713-522-6957.
Please spread the word to your Houston-based fans and anyone who wants to make the short jaunt down I-45.

Can any longtime followers of either SMU or Rice validate whether the attendance between these schools has been different based on the conference affiliations.
Since these 2 schools have competed as both members of the SWC, WAC and soon to be C-USA.
I am trying to decide whether conference affiliations affect attendance, if all other factors are the same (mainly schools playing being the same).
Therefore would a SMU-Rice game have a higher attendance if both were in the Big 12?
