Sounds reasonable. Cronin is an offensive Mastermind.

Please let this be true. And Mike, do not miss your second chance to let Mick go on his own.

I see someone from Mick’s camp is floating rumors again. Mick must want something from the AD or probably another raise.

Thanks for confirming. It seemed pretty obvious, but never 100% sure.

Yeah I hear ya. I’m so fed up UC being in the ncaas every year.

No here’s an idea...why don’t you take a bearcat sabbatical and come back in say 7 years. Go find yourself a nice program like Duke or UK for a few years since winning tourney games is your end all be all. Maybe by then UC will have a coach you can support. #gerhardfeelingbiggerthantheprogram

But yes clearly a satirical post. Everyone knows Mick’s dream job is Louisville.

I would love to see this, if only just for the fascinating developments that occur when Demar Derozan and Kyle Lowry punch him in the face the first time he yells at them or tells them they've got to slow it down.

Also, him trying to coach defense to NBA players would be like Plato teaching philosophy to 3 year olds...

Mick to Toronto, and Kelvin to Orlando, the great AAC coaching tree. Mick better get a big raise as the tax man cometh north of the border.

Thanks for telling me how I can enrich my fan experience. I'll take it under advisement but honestly I don't think MikeB, the AD or even MC would appreciate me giving up the season tix I have held for MC's entire tenure here. Sorry that I #havehigherexpectations. You obviously #setthebarmuchlower.

You know, it truly is all in how you look at it.

Just off the top of my head, during this streak of consecutive NCAA's by UC I can state for a fact that UK, O$U, ND, school 6, IU, UCONN and UCLA all have missed the tournament at some point.

Knowing a lot of IU fans as I do, they're reaching for the drano to chug when that selection show comes on and they're not in it.

The fact that we MAKE the tournament every year means nothing to the #somepeopleareneversatsifed crowd. While we'd all like to win it, there's no prize for the 67 teams that don't. Unless you're a #wejustliketoputupbanners subscriber.

Heaven help poor Cronin if we have a bad season or if injuries strike key players, then watch the #listentoembitchnow movement show up.

Not true...the "prize" is better recruiting for subsequent seasons and deeper penetration down the road. Just off the top of my head, examples include Butler and Gonzaga.

As to the "let's just make the tournament" mantra you recite, I find it interesting that of the 10 current teams with the longest consecutive appearance streaks in the NCAA tourney, UC has the poorest win total in the tourney--that indicates a lack of crunch-time coaching ability.

But that's OK...as Cronin has stated...the post-season is "just for the fans" it's not really his forte. I bet you hold the same opinion.

For every Butler and Gonzaga, there's a George Mason and VCU, dude.

Indiana St. parlayed that 1979 championship game run into... what?

Maybe if some of you'z out there understood how hard it is to even MAKE the tournament, you'd be a little more satisfied.

That hardly matters. I doubt Sparty fans felt better getting knocked out by Syracuse this year.

I don't get the black/white discussion of either being satisfied or angry at our basketball results.

It's possible to really appreciate making the postseason every year (which is way more valuable to fans we give it credit for) while still being really annoyed with the inability to get past the first weekend (really the round of 32). That's where I'm at.

If you want Cronin fired, fine and I get why, but you are wasting your energy. He's not going anywhere and it's not because our administration is settling for mediocrity. It's because it would be program suicide to get rid of a coach that successful. You want to go through a Bob Huggins lite situation again? I don't.
