Rick Scott announces bid to unseat incumbent FL Senator Bill Nelson
Chalk up another example of what should be the most contentious and expensive midterm elections in U.S. history. Buckle your seats, everybody. I don't think we will see any smooth sailing until late-November at the earliest.

Bet it sets all kinds of records for spending.

Strategically, its a good move for the Republicans. Make the Democrats devote a lot of resources to that Senate race. There will be less to go around on House races.

Scott is a rare 'recruiting win' for the GOP. He still will probably lose. But this and SD are about the only decent recruiting wins in the Senate field for them.
