Sounds like he would be the starting qb if we played tomorrow. Too bad Griggs is hurt again. It would have been nice to see them battle it out this spring.

Where are you hearing this? But thank God you aren't hearing that Key has the top spot right now. But what about the Cuban Assassin that everyone was proclaiming was the best qb on the team last year?

Probably an assumption due to Abraham is getting the most reps with the 1s. Not sure how he has looked compared to Rodriguez. Need them all to compete.

I just want the best player on the field.

What I really hope is that our OL has improved. We got pushed around so hard by FSU. We looked like middle schoolers playing high school varsity.

Just reading and watching videos on what both coaches have said about all 3 QBs. It sounds like Abraham is first string and Howard is second. Rodriguez is 3rd.

Watched Abraham put up one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in a state championship a couple of years ago. They ended up losing 45-41, getting stopped at the 1 as time expired.

We won't really know until Jackson State, or maybe Auburn. Every new QB is a roll of the dice.

It's Spring, there are no starters. The fact that Jack may be in front of Keon doesn't say much. The fact that Keon may be in front of Rodriguez speaks volumes.

Sounds like a new SUNWACUSA member. Better worry about JSU-Jackson campus first.

Agree - but I still question whether it speaks volumes about the coaches, or volumes about the players ability.

I wish Coach Hopson would pick his starter earlier and give him as many reps as possible. His philosophy is to let the competition continue as long as possible. On the other hand, I try to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he has good reasons beyond my uninformed preferences.

RE: Jack Abraham
University of Florida has been looking for a QB for since Meyer left, with little luck. It's really a roll of the dice.

Rodriguez not beating out Keon yet, is definitely an eye-opener. I saw an accurate, mobile passer his senior year.

As for Abraham, I don't like the fact that he couldn't beat-out J'Mar at La Tech.

Wonder what's wrong with Whatley? and Griggs?

Who are the second and third-string WRs that these guys are throwing to? Any talent there?

Last Spring, I saw a "C-" passing game that carried over into the Fall. I hope I see some improvement on the 21st, from somebody. I hope we don't waste plays running walk-on RBs.

Today's article in the Hattiesburg American made it sound like Abraham is already the starting QB. Only Griggs can beat him out now.
