There has been so many students who were able to see good basketball while at UC, but thanks to Tony Yates I was not one of them.

Thanks to Tony Yates, I saw great basketball at UC. Those national championship banners wouldn't be displayed at 5th/3rd if not for his floor leadership. Maybe he wasn't the greatest coach in the world, but he deserves credit and respect for his contributions to Bearcats basketball.

Best post of 2018!!!

This. And when it was time for him to go, he left the program in better shape than he found it, and went with class.

UC covered the spread!

Badger's last season: 11-17 (1-11 in conference)
Yates' last season: 15-12 (5-7)

Huggins was able to hit the ground running upon arrival.

Tony Yates coaching career can best be summed up by this picture:

How many remember this, and the story that came out afterwards?

I do not know of the story, but I skipped meeting with a study group to prepare for a test to go to that game. I still use it to point out the hopelessness of my college years as far as being a basketball fan. We lost at home to a team know as the Fighting Kangaroos.
